I am at 5,000 and both tires look good with rear showing the most wear but looks halfway down . I have been told that Echarms have some with over 10,000 miles on a belt and still good . I looked at a belt for mine versus a 50 and wow mine is so much thicker . In a few weeks Im going to get Dr Pulley sliders not sure of weight but thinking the same as rollers . My dealer said he has yet to even have to replace any on the Echarm model yet .
I hate the Cheng Shin tires but torn between Pirelli MT75 ( made for Buell Blast ) and a size wider on the rear , or get Avon Viper Stryker with a 70 sidewall rather than 80 . Softer compounds wear faster but provide much better traction . I can not push mine really hard in a curve as it has a slit skid when going over 60 but not like drifting .
Thanks to Greg I found a great deal on nitrogen shocks to replace my oil springers that bounce , along with a muffler that sounds great as I heard ut on a Glory which has the same engine as mine . I can only laugh at those 299 exhaust kits for a 1,000 dollar scooter . Only Supertrapp would be worth that for a 4T .
Well post results after I get my goodies .
So how many miles on your belt and tires ? Please tell the make , model , tire size and brand , along with belt and if a Gates Powerlink or other .
I am trying to see what products last the longest so others may know this as well .
Also even if my belt is still ok which I am pretty sure it is , would it be a good idea to replace with new since going with sliders and keep old as a spare ? I know the 50s go through belts much faster than 150+s

On my 50cc. I really like the Pirelli sl26 tires for the ride and performance, but wow the rear is wearing fast!! After I put a 2000 rpm clutch pack in, it tore up the stock belt pretty quickly, so I got a Kevlar one, it did shred a little but looks like it will hold up longer than a regular one. Sorry I can't tell you the miles (odo don't work) but it's not that many, I put those items on last summer and usually only ride on the weekends say 30-40 miles. Yes I would replace you're belt now while you're already in there and keep the old as a spare, they're not that expensive. Some people swear by the Bando brand. Also I've got a motorcycle mag. that gives the Avon brand low ratings, while pirelli and Bridgstone get the high marks.

Im happy with the Pirelli sl26. I got mine from Western Power Sports, shipped pair for $58.
I still have my stock Gates belt with about 5000 on it. I replaced it with another just because I wanted to turn a wrench.

On my RCM-50:
Have replaced rear once, still on original front, and am on the third belt. I'll get back to you on the odometer; I'm sure it's over 10,000 km though.

I have a JCL 250cc scooter with almost 9000 miles on it. It still had the original tires on it. On Friday 4/13/11 I drove it to Affordable ATV'S in Mansfield, Ohio (100 miles) and had the tires replaced. Rear tire was getting very bald, and the front tire had little tread left. The dealer stated that the average tire is worn out at about 5000 miles. While I was there I asked the owner about the drive belt. He said that if I had this many miles on it, it would probably last much longer. He did also say that any belt could go bad at any time. He stated that the life of the belts (and tires) are greatly influenced by the driving habits of the owner. If the driver is hot-rodding, the life of these items drops drastically. Conversely, the average life of these items increase drastically if the owner drives in a responsible manner. Attachments:

my Echarm has 6,300 miles the front looks close to new and minimum wear on the rear . I notice if you have passengers your tire wears out faster along with higher speeds . If I get on our Redneck Autobahn here I can see the tires are darker from excessive heat

My Vento has 5500 miles I will be replacing the gates powerlink belt and weights on wed with a the same powerlink belt and new 14g weights and slideers i ride mostley back roads and will not take a chance of a break down .I will keep the old belt just in case the new one fail. the orignal tires seams to be in good shape plan to cange them out in at 7500 miles. One thing i did was to cut out tne cover by the clutch bell and used JB weld to mount a screen to keep the heat down i got the idea for this forum. Now I'am looking for new leds for the new case I mounted on the back Any ideas where i can find them reasible?

I have a roketa yy50qt-21 50cc. only 500 miles on it so far, but my yy50qt-20 I had kept belts for around 5000 miles stock and around 2000 miles after the 82cc(50mm) BBK, my new scoot has a 90CC BBK and I removed a lot of weight and made the front end more aerodynamic. I'm hoping I will get less tire wear from the lighter scoot and less belt wear from the improved aerodynamics, after I get some real miles on it I'll let you all know what a difference it makes on wear and tear, currently I know the round 10-12Lbs lighter, this increased top end by about 1-2MPH and the aerodynamics added another 2-3MPH to my top end, without any other modifications, so I know there is less friction and less dead weight the scoot is dealing with.

just turned 6200 miles on my kenda k761 and the rear looks to go another 5ooo, front, probably a bit more.
6000 on the Cheng Shin front on the 250, just put a new rear on, i think that was the second rear tire, and just put my third on, but thats no shockers the 250s burn up rear tires.

I have a Linhai Aeolus 260. My original front tire lasted around 7000 miles and was replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport SC. This one is still going strong and I just passed the 15,000 mile two days ago. I probably have another 3000 miles on this one if not more. The original back tire was replaced around 5700 miles and I replaced it with a Michelin Pilot. This lasted for 6000 miles and was replaced with Michelin Bopper. I only have little over 3000 miles on the Bopper but I really like the ride that this produces.
As for the belt, I replaced my original belt after 12,000 miles. After replacing it, I realized I should have replaced it few thousand miles back. It's hard to notice the incremental degradation of performance from your equipment when you ride it every day. However, after I replaced the belt, the sudden performance increase was definitely noticeable. I think 8 or 9 thousand miles is a good time to change out the belt.
Thanks - Scooteritch

scooterich did you replace the rollers along with the belt ? My rollers just started to get flat spots at 5,500 but were still good and replaced with DrP sliders . I am at 7,200 miles the front looks close to new and the rear about 60 % worn . I noticed if you go fast and or have a passenger the rear wears out faster than if alone and cruise below 50 mph . I know the hard compound tires last longer but do not grip as good and the soft ones like Avon Viper Strykes which are great from what I read do not last as long but are safer and a better trade off to me .
I have my tires balanced and wow its so much more enjoyable ride and not as bouncy .

When I replaced the belt, I went with Gates and everything seemed great. the performance was certainly better than with the old belt on. However, the scooter did not have the top end speed that it had before. About a 1000 miles later, I had a major malfunction where the the secondary sheave pretty much fell apart while riding and destroyed the belt to a pulp and the one half of the two plates in the back where the belt rides literally broke into two parts. When I did the repair, I decided to replace both the front and the back sheaves (primary and secondary) which included the rollers and the clutch. Once I put the new stuff in with a new belt, my scooter started moving like it was new again. So, to answer your question, I did not replace my rollers when I replaced my belt. But, in retrospect, I should have. These things that move and wear out really do effect the overall performance of the ride.

My back tire didn't last long. Got a flat 3 days after receiving it. It didn't matter since I was going to replace the tires and valve stems. I have a Shinko tire on the back wheel. I still have another Shinko tire but haven't changed it since the front tire that came with the scooter is fine.

So how many miles on your belt and tires ? i've replaced the front tire once. the replacement was a used tire and is defective, will be replacing it in a few weeks. i've replaced the rear tire 3 times, once with a "chin shin" or however you spell it, once with a honda tire, and once with a kenda. make and model? explain make and model. 130/60-13. "chin shin", honda, and kenda. don't know the brand of the OEM belt. replaced with gates power link.

well my 90cc destroyed it's first belt at a little over 500 miles. was a stock gates too, oh well I'm sure it had to do with my variator getting eaten up. LOL, my engine has WAY too much power for a 50cc.

I have 31,000+km on my front tire and it looks surprisingly great---I'll even take a pic. Cheng Shin. Changed the rear tire around I think 20,000km--- a little late though on that one, as I could see the threads and it was bald for sure.

Wow do you drive slow onewheeldrive ? Lol, usually around 35-40 full throttle...MAX. I've hit 42 on a really good day GPS(I'm a lightweight) I ride it to work a lot--its about 10 miles one way, so I can hold that speed pretty well since it's fairly flat the whole way. Not lately though, cuz I have some engine work to do, although debating on buying a new one since a few things need replaced. Although, to be fair, around town I only drive around 30-- give or take a few MPH, as I take a lot of side streets. I don't like to hold up traffic. Sometimes, depending on the wind/weather, it can take awhile to get up to 35-40--- if even that...haha. 31,000km in about 4 years.
