Since the tilting 150TKA trike has been eliminated as a possible buy. (thanks to all the negatives) I'm thinking about buying the 2011 Icebear (PST150-7) Eagle 150cc trike. Specs say it tops at 49.5-55 mph. Anyone have one? Would appreciate any feedback Thanks-- Savy Attachments:

Nope don't believe us dealers when we tell you expected MPH. Cruising MPH depends on a lot of factors. Some of these factors are riders weight, whether or not the machine has been re jetted and adjusted for altitude differences, tire pressure, mileage on the machine, ect. Expect better MPH after the machine is good and broken it. Ice Bear says max 49.7 right on their site. I know that they have started low balling their max speeds in their specs. When I tell folks what to expect I usually go low and then when it gets better they are happy. The nice part about the Ice Bear 150's is that they use a GY6 motor and performance parts are readily available from a lot of places. So if you are not happy with the speed you can upgrade to your hearts content. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Jim, I would be carefull about promising upgrade to your hearts content. Even if I could get an air cooled 150 kicking out 25 horses, it I sure would not want to be sitting on most 150 chassis for long. Frankly, why a 150 trike? Why not a 250? I like the lightness and handling of a 150 scoot but I don't think that matters much with a trike. But what I know about trikes you could put in a thimble and still have room left over.

LOL @ thimble! I do agree with you about most 150 frames, I have to say that the IB 150 frames have to be one of the best I have seen. I had a chance to do a radical upgrade on a 150 trike and looked at the frame very closely. In my opinion there should not be an issue. The owner is riding it and has, shall we say, beat it!!!!!! LOL!!! Here is the build. scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=threewheelers&thread=41567&page=1Jim

I am not a dealer, but thought about buying a 150cc trike too. The thing that turned me off, was watching a youtube video of a company showing one off. The operator went on two wheels accassional when turning. You have to operate them alot different than a scooter. Alot of people were having troubles with them too.

You are absolutely correct when you say operating a trike is a lot different from operating a 2 wheeler. No matter if it is an Ice Bear, Harley or Goldwing trike. You actually drive a trike as compared to riding a two wheeler. I do remember my first experience with trike many years ago. 1963 1/2 Harley Trike. I learned very quickly about the handling characteristics. To make matters even worse it had flat faced bias tires on both the front and rear. Most of the Ice Bear 300s have independent rear suspension which helps a lot in corning and keeping all 3 wheels on the ground. The 50 and 150s are still straight axel rear. Jim

They are nice Trikes for the price, there are trikers with some of the IB trikes on Scooter.Doc. One guy calls himself Alleyoop(I think he was on this forum before) has a souped up trike and he knows everything about them. There are also some guys with the 300 trikes as well and some with the 50s trikes. You might want to go and take a look see. It appears all the trikers left this forum for one reason or another. pete

Did you check for complaints from this company? From the complaints they do not have good service after the sale. Also I do not think they know much about trikes. They just order them so good luck on having it put together for you and up and running.
You see RapidRepairs Banner he deals with trikes a lot and knows them. No dealer around knows the IB trikes like RapidRepair. He is an authorized IB dealer and has a real live shop. Wile

Thank you Wile for your kind words. I do try very hard to keep my customers happy, and do help those that do not get support from other "dealers" that they have bought from. I must be doing something right, since IB does not deal with the consumer they do refer people to me. I am dealing with familygokarts.com and I am waiting to see if they will send my ice-bear eagle trike fully assembled. This way I will know it is put together right. Will let you guys know how it turned out. I wish you all the best with your purchase. I have yet to hear of a dealer that ships a IB Trike 100% assembled, PDIed, ready to ride, just gas and go. I have heard of a dealer that claims to do just that with a 2 Wheeled scoot but, in reality when the customer got the machine it was shipped from CA just like anyone else. I have had a customer want to do just that, here is where issues come in. Of course there is an additional cost of inspection and PDI. Preparing a fully assembled trike for reshipment to protect it from shipping damage is not an easy task. Then you have the additional cost for reshipment from the dealer to you. After all the numbers were figured out, the customer decided it was cheaper to come to my shop and trailer it home (Ohio) herself. It isn't the minor assembly that has to be done that is difficult. It is the inspection/PDI that is important. In a nut shell, making sure that everything is adjusted correctly and tight. Just a word of advice. Check Boards like this for comments in the dealer section of the company you are thinking of dealing with. I did take the time to look at their site and the BBB report. They have an excellent rating A+, I find this interesting: Business Category Go-Karts, Storage Units - Household & Commercial, Trailers - Rent & Lease, Auto Restoration, Furniture - Retail, All-Terrain Vehicles, Swimming Pool Manufacturers & Distributors, Generators - Electric, Swimming Pool Equipment & Supplies Most of their customer complaints deal with guarantee/warranty issues or problems with product/service. There is also this: The BBB has contacted BW Inc. to express concern over the complaints about the problems consumers have reported with receiving replacement parts for their ATVs. BW Inc. has responded to the BBB and stated they are taking proactive steps to ensure the parts will be available directly from BW Inc., which will eliminate the delay from the manufacturer. Jeff Backer, owner of BW Inc., also states they plan on expanding their customer service staff to further assist consumers. Additional Web Addresses www.familygokarts.comwww.familypoolfun.comwww.bwincorporated.comwww.wisdomforbetterliving.comwww.spendlessonheat.comwww.caresecrets.comAll this information came from www.bbb.org/minnesota/business-reviews/go-karts/b-w-incorporated-in-browns-valley-mn-14001779?&language=1If my memory still serves me, they use to do a lot of advertising on local TV here for swimming pools and pool tables. Our local channels are from Minnesota. Again Good luck to you. Hope it all works out and you get a lot of enjoyment and fun from your trike. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Jim, I have not bought anything yet...I am taking a trike training class first and I am still looking to see who is the best dealer to buy from. I am even thinking of calling you due to the good reviews the forum gives on your company. I spoke to familygokarts.com on friday and it is monday and I am still waiting to see if they can handle my request of complete assembly of my scooter. I am worried about the gas tank on the Eagle trike now it only holds 1.7gal I think I want something that holds at least 3 gal--what trike would be the best I will be using it every day to ride 20 miles a day. Help me Please decide on the right trike!

Thank You Jim for speaking with me today and with your help I am leaning towards the ice bear titan--still 150cc but a bit bigger. You took the time to ask all the right questions and give all the right answers. Will be speaking to you soon. I am looking for financing now.
