I was riding to my mom's house and got about half way and the battery died. After calling my mom to come jumpstart it, someone at a Casey's store took pity on my and jumpstarted it, and I was on my way. About 30 miles further down the road, the motor gave out on me and left me stranded on the highway. A guy stopped gave me some oil, cuz I thought maybe it needed it, then went to town, about 5 miles away, got some more oil and brought it back for me, we tried to jumpstart it, not luck. I pushed it down the road about a half mile and waited for my mom to show up. Instead a cop showed up and he tried to jumpstart it too. Finally, my mom showed up and took me to go get the trailer. Everyone was so nice and helpful that I couldn't be too upset about blowing the motor out on my scooter. Hats off to Casey's employees and people in a small town. They are always willing to help a stranded motorist.

Took it to a motorcycle repair shop and they said the motor was locked up and it needed a new one. Rather than spend 2 grand to make all the repairs it needed, I invested in Honda Reflex. Hubby is getting a Burgman soon so we will be able to ride together or go two up on his.

Sorry your scoot died, but the Flex is a great bike. I have had a Flex, (named Silvano) for over 3 years and I love it. It is a great machine. Rides well and is beautifully balanced. You can come to an almost complete stop before putting a foot down, it stays upright even in slow motion.
I have used mine to take 4 day camping trips. I had large saddle bags rigged on it and I could carry everything I needed including a small tent, food, clothes and gear. The bags recently began to fall apart, so I had to take them off. They were not well anchored on the bottom and when I took them off, they had damaged the paint on the sides. I used touch up paint to repair it, but it is still noticeable. I will really miss those bags, but I don't want to damage the finish again, so I most likely won't hang any more saddle bags on it. Will probably have to take my big scoot, the Mod Quad, (Honda Silver Wing w/tow pac trike kit), if I want to go camping with a scoot. I just pile all the camping gear on the passenger seat. Since it has extra wheels it remains stable even with the added weight.

Camping on my scoot is something I want to try. I have a pup tent, fleece sleeping bag, and one burner stove. I got saddle bags ment for a crotch rocket to put on it, but I don't leave them on all the time. I also bought a roll bag for the back seat, I got a water proof back pack for when I go shopping or on overnight trips to friends. It holds a lot of stuff and it's made for camping so it's very sturdy and weighs next to nothing when it's not filled with stuff. This summer I will be trying that out. I think that if the flex ever quits, I will be looking at silver wings so I can keep up with my husband on his burgman.

I have owned and operated many diesel and gas engine vehicles/equipment and never ceased any of them but I could see it happening on one of these Scooters, the oil needs to be checked before every ride. These things go through oil like a chainsaw.
