I'll probably hit the road today on my scooter. It will be about 30 or so. As long as there isn't any ice on the roads. Early morning dew freezes on the asphalt and makes it dangerous on tree lined curves. The cold isn't as much of an issue as the glaze of ice that you can't see in the shadows.
I haven't ridden my scooter in over a week and I'm missing it!

Cyclegear has MOTORCYCLE gloves which work much better than gloves for just being outside rather than have wind blown across them . I use Bilt Tornados with a glove liner , getting Freeze Out liners today as they were out the other week . There are some that are heated via battery or 12v adapter

well of course a helmet !!!!!!!!!!!!
i usually don't wear one in warm weather but it's not because of the cold. on dry, warm roads i really don't fear going down cause im a good rider. BUT__________________ in the cold there could be a small ice patch, that u don't even see AND BAM down u go.

Helmet not only protects you but helps retain body heat too .

Rode to work today, 18 degrees on the way home. I might go get my 150 at my parents house because my new 50 doesn't like the cold.

Ya, just let my scooter sleep... Zzzz...Zzzzz. Zzzzzz But it was chilly out this morning.. I agree, the helmet protects the head and keeps it warm and too, the faceshield protects the face from wind. Now the good new in MO 48 Wed, 59 Th, 59 Fri, 50 Sat...and ten days of dry mild weather. So awesome.. Attachments:

Ur right, it does take me a lot longer to get ready, but that gives my moped more time to warm up, i start my scooter and let it idle while im putting everything on.

I also got the Freeze Out Face Mask with neck protector for 10 bucks. Highly recommended products for these chilly temps we're having!!! I wonder if we pass each other on hwy 29 and just don't know it, lol.

terrilee,
Helmets save lives. Even good riders go down unexpectedly or get hit by cars. I know several people who probably would have died without a helmet. Some of them had some serious broken bones and broken helmets, but no broken heads.

New record for me today - rode to work at 13 degrees, in my suit. My thighs and ankles were frozen of course, but the scooter was more upset than me -- it seemed to never quite warm up over the 10 mile trip.

I got my Freeze Out glove liners , long johns and neck guard . The neck guard is like a collar and is one piece works great . The FO glove liners are way better than my neoprene liners . The FO LJs are also better than my parachute pants were too .
