How do you change the headlights. Do you have to take the front plactic off. I looked in from behind but could not see how do change the bulbs. I need to get an inspection sticker and one of the bulbs is out on the low beam. .... Has any one had to change these bulbs before. Attachments:

I dont have a Jonway, but usually you do have to take off the front plastics to change the headlight. The fairing should come loose from the knee panel.

You can change them without pulling plastic. Reach in above the fender and you will feel the rubber protectors behind the bulbs. Pull the rubber protectors and you can access the bulbs.
They are special bulbs with a weird base. Some people convert to H4 or H7 45 watt bulbs. Can't remember which. Pulling the front plastic off is a bitch.

I order two at a time because of lack of availability. I'm converting the headlights over to 45 watt in the spring. The stockers are pretty dim imho.

Had a bulb go out.. Well, thought it would not be a problem finding another one locally. I knew I was in trouble when the guy at Advance Auto parts said: "That's an odd looking base"! Ordered two via eBay at 35 watts to replace the 25 watt bulbs in the scoot. Still, the light in my opinion is unsatisfactory. So, I have led lights on the scoot! Very noticeable now.. Yes, it's a pain in the arse getting access to the bulbs. I too, originally pulled the entire front end off. Now, I work my way up to the rubber boots and just replace them that way.. I've found a more permanent solution to some of my JCL's issues. Sell the damn thing next year for a 650 Burgman..
