Hi, just took the plunge and decided to get a scooter for the new year. I'm brand new and looking to learn. Little nervous about driving on the crazy LA roads, but looking forward to it.
Few questions for any members from LA. Any good recommendations for scooter repair places in Mid-Wilshire/Hollywood area?
and where's a good place to get accessories at?
and any tips or advice for dealing with LA traffic would be great!
Thanks!

Ya, I was from San Jose CA, born and raised there until age 19.. What size of scooter are you thinking about buying? I own a 250cc scooter that can travel highway speeds, but if you were looking at a 49cc scooter, well it can't goes as fast.. A 250cc would be like a car because of being allowed on highways does 70 mph. A 150cc is like driving 45 to 50 mph and good for secondary roads of 45 mph.. 49cc scooters travel between 30 to 40 mph.. Good for local travel on 30 to 35 mph roads..

I was looking at a few different scooters, was really tempted by the Buddy 125, but thought i better go economic for my first one. Found a used Lance Cali Classic 125 on craigslist for a good deal.
Any thoughts on that choice?

i do recommend to learn to work on the scooter you get, labor at most places is an arm and a leg. definitely will be better than driving through that traffic. i love LA, bunch of family and friends live up there. hope this helps out a bit
