Ok so you know how on the float bowl on a carburetor there is a drain hose and a screw that you loosen to drain the gas out of the bowl? Well I have two carburetors, one on my baccio scoot and one on a dirtbike of mine (both 2 stroke) and even with the screw tightened tight gas still leaks out of the drain hose on the carb.... On the dirtbike it is extremely bad, even with the screw tightened tight its as iff there is no screw. On the baccio scoot it just drips and makes a mess on my cvt cover. Both have Mikuni carbs. What the heck is going on? Does anybody have an answer to this problem?

Sounds like dry rott or just over tightened. The route I took with mine was I just pulled the drain tube off and capped it with a rubber end cap + a zip tie.

Hi, I know it's an old thread but I just fixed my overtightened and therefore leaking drain screw - I just cut small stripe off a PVC shopping bag, stuck it in the hole and then tightened the screw good over it so it compresses the nylon inside. Sucked the drain hose to double-check - worked like charm.

I was thinking shoving a little teflon tape in the hole and then the screw...
JB Weld the drain nipple shut?

JB Weld the drain nipple shut? No need really, it absolutely blocks both passages (vacuum tested it). Just be sure to stuff as much as possible in, then compress it with the sharp tip of the screw and screw it in real good. Cheers.
