I went to the gym today came out and engine turned over once then all I hear is a buzzing. Neighbor came out and we jump started it. Noticed on the ride home the turn signals didn't work they did work on the way to the gym. Brake lights work. It was idling in my driveway I hit the horn and trike died. Battery is being charged tomorrow I'll see it it starts and check to see if it's charging the battery if it doesn't start I'll try a new battery then if turn signals still don't work it will be diagnosis time. .

The first thing to go is the rectorifer/regulator $28 bucks it is a standard 250cc regulator. Mine went at about 600 miles changed it out and never a problem. Another Magnum her had the same problem and we changed his out and his is fine

bms motor parts are expensive but they have cherry picked some of the best
all china parts are not made the same, by the better ones.

Check the water level in the battery if its a wet cell type . A friend kept having to charge or jump start his scooter and realized it was low on water . DO NOT use tap water only use distilled water and hook up to a trickle charger over night . Cold temperature cause batteries to lose power too . A trickle charger is cheap and a must have for extreme cold areas and when not in use for a long time

since everyone is guessing here's my 2... since you had all plastic off i would suspect a pinched wire shorting or a connector unplugged for the lights also a short may have blown the charge fuse..... check voltages from engine to battery check fuse first.. look for wire shorted or unplugged..... SUX tracking down when you do multiple things at the same time.....

Strange this is it ran for 2 days and everything was fine. It was fine right up to parking at the gym. Turn signals worked pulling into the lot. Battery has been on a charger all night still not charged. I am going to first get a battery then add motorcycle coverage on to my AAA. I called yesterday thinking no big deal they will send someone out and I'll be on my way. "Motorcycle not covered you need a rider" and it takes 3 days after you pay for it to be active. Best insurance for an old guy like me with no family around to help. Calling a tow truck once would be more than the coverage will cost. If problems still exist then I know what my project will be for the next few days. PANEL REMOVAL something I've come to love (got to stop drinking) On to my favorite time of the day...the morning dump. When you get to my age bodily functions become a big focus. ;D

Morning ritual completed wife driven to work. Battery still not showing fully charged. Pulled the charge battery reads 12.99 volts. Put the key in turned to on did not start the trike turn signals work ,horn works all lights work. Time to get the battery and take it out or a spin. Update: I started it and took it around the block all was well. Some good news: I found a scooter shop that has done PDI on these before. Guy said my front shimmy is still most likely the rear but said putting on a Pirelli on the front is not a bad idea. I'm taking it into him on Saturday he said he'll have it back to me by Tuesday for $150 plus cost of the tire. At this point it's worth it to me. I'm going to get a new battery before I bring it in.

Sounds like the battery not holding amps....You willl like the Pirelli on the front and it does make a difference.

I emailed Jim about the reading I got at the battery. 12.2 at the battery terminals with me revving the engine. Jim has suggested making sure regulator is plugged in. My question back to him was "where is the regulator"?
I do have a new battery on the way it will be here tomorrow.

The regulator is under the seat and has cooling fines on it. it is mounted to the frame on a bracket. It will have 2 plugs harnesses on it.
Ger it is easy to check with a meter, if you need. I can tell you that a lot of the orig regulator from china go on the scooters. They are cheap just get a 250cc regulator with the same plugs on it

Lee in AR had gave me the instructions on how to check it but I can not find them. I think it is in the 250cc and above section here. It was so cheap I just got a new one and bingo problem solved. But I haad the ac voltage from stator

Waiting for Jim's advice on what the next step should be. Sent you an email. In case you didn't get it ( also to show others) On the plug with the red, black and green wire, with the trike running and the regulator pluged in, use a multimetter on DC and probe the red wire with one lead and to ground with the other. Rev up the engine and it should go above 13 volts. If that is good look for a broken wire between the plug and the battery. Now, if that is bad, disconnect the plug with 3 yellow wires, start the trike, Switch your meter over to AC volts. With the engine idling measure the AC voltage between all three yellow wires in the harness. All three should read about 25 volts AC or higher. Note that you should be reading from yellow wire to yellow wire, and not yellow wire to ground. Rev the motor up and the AC voltage should increase. If it reads OK here then your stator is OK, and the regulator is bad. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair Editted: 12/07/2011

Anyone know if the green and large red wire at battery should have connectivity to the regulator plug? From what I can see of the wirig diagram I have the red wire from the battery goes to the starter.
