Hey guys, just picked up a Lance 150 GSR the other day, figured i should join a forum like i did when i bought my car.
Here she is:
I know its a cheap chinese model, but i got it for cheap, and i only plan on having it for a year or two until i graduate and move on to bigger and better things. Im also pretty good with tools these days, and having something to tinker on in my off hours is kind of a stress reliever for me.
Yesterday i did a tune up on her; oil change, gear oil change, bolt tightening all around, rattle fixing, new rear tire, painted the exhaust with high temp flat black, painted the belt cover gloss black, and painted both wheels gloss black. It looks alot better in my opinion as ive never been a fan of chrome/polished aluminum on anything with modern styling.
I have to run to the dmv tomorrow to take care of registration and whatnot, but from the quick bursts around the block ive done with her, she rides pretty solid but seems to hit a limiter at 55mph.
Anyhow, for those of you curious, this is my car, an 02 Ford Focus SVT. She started stock, and ive added countless mods. These days, shes a auto-x monster, and ive recorded consistant 1.1 lateral gs with professional equipment. This picture is a few months old, and ive replaced some things, but it still looks about the same.
Unfortunately, my job is an on-call on-site computer tech, and that puts alot of miles on her, and here in traffic-land southern california, i rarely see over 23mpg. Im spending roughly $400 a month on gas right now, which is why i finally took the leap and bought the scooter. Lance says it will get 60-80mpg, and even if it gets only 50, its a huge improvement over my current standing.
So, theres me. Anything you guys think i should know about my scooter? tips? tricks?
