Ger when you do it use PVC Heavy duty cement, got mine at Home Depot, not fiberglass resien. I took a wire brush and roughed the are up and a layer of PVC than fiberglass sheets cut to size than coat it in place.were the lights are on the back I took plastic coat hangers and cut them to 3 inches and PVC them together, let dry and do several times the PVC coating than laied 2 laywers of glass over tham. The plastic melts in cement and is supper strong and every thing will still flex but not crack or break.
MIke

I concur with Mike...the PVC glue works fantastic. I used "shaped plastic and glued her in and it sank right into the fairing. It's amazing.

It is a 2 part epoxy that works very well, is sandable, paintable and holds extremely well. Using it for large fabrication would be price prohibited but, I have used it to repair a set of mirrors on a tilting scooter and worked excellent, after the repair was done and painted you couldn't tell it had be broke and has held up. I assume you also use PVC primer before the glue. Jim

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH CRACKS STARTING ON TWO CORNERS AND ONE SIDE PIECE BROKE OFF ON ME.HAIRLINE CRACKS STARTED AROUND THE BOLT HOLES. I TOOK THE SHELL OFF AND FIBERGLASSED MINE.HAD A ROLL OF 4INCH WIDE CLOTH AND ONE QUART OF RESIN AND DID IT A LITTLE AT A TIME. CUT THE CLOTH TO SIZE AND MIXED JUST ENOUGH RESIN TO DO THE JOB NO RUSHING. WHEN I STARTED THE ORIGINAL WAS PAPER THIN NOW ITS SOLID. THE HOLES LINED UP AND I HAD TO USE NEW RUBBER GROMITS BECAUSE OF THE NEW THICKNESS THAT RESULTED FROM THE NEW THICKNESS OF THE FIBERGLASS. CAME OUT GREAT. HOPE IT LASTS. STILL A LOT OF VIBRATION BACK THERE AND I CANT FIGE OUT WHY.ANY IDEAS.LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
