Today I met a guy who got his two scooters out of pawn , and both had a dead battery . I know these batteries only hold a small charge and dissipate when not in use , even more in winter . A car jump or from a car charger puts out way too many amps and make fry the scooter . I felt bad for him but AutoZone was beside the pawn shop and they offered to put on a trickle charge which would take a long time . I know if battery is too far gone , its time for a new one . Most die in winter if stored and not charged over a long time . Thats why some say you buy a battery every year . I have only had to replace a battery twice with all of my two wheelers through the years. I ride year round , and prefer cool weather instead of scorching summer .
So has anyone hooked up jumper cables from a scooter to another ?
I know some modern cars with a computer , jump starting can damage the ECU . I have seen goobers hook up leads backwards and poof , DOA .
Would I be risking damaging my ECU and electrical by doing so even with leads correctly on both batteries ?

jumping from scooter to scooter is fine the batteries are usually 4-7 amps only and not like a big car battery. Lefty

You can jump from a car battery if the car is OFF. I just got a 1.5 amp float charger at Harbor Frieght for $3.99.

I jumped a car with my scooter battery once I kid you not. It was JUST enough to get the car started, granted I made sure the bike was turned off while I did it
