My Echarm rides great at 50MPH or less but unsafe at high speeds . I adjusted the rear shocks halfway around and now have them ATW to firmest position . I have shimmy and bounces since the roads here are quite horrid . Roads are so bad that I almost went with a street and trail bike instead of a scooter . I want rear shocks ( dual design ) that use nitrogen in the cylinder with adjustable coil overs .
The forks are fine for going slow but feel wimpy above 50 . I noticed the fork tubes only go up half in the front with a single triple tree . Motorcycles mostly have fork tubes that are longer with 2 triple trees to help limit wobble . I know I can replace the fork oil with a thicker type , but can not find out what viscosity I have or able to determine but pouring it out . I can not find the specs on the forks and would hate to put in too thick of oil and cause damage . I have seen forks online , but would hate to buy something thats the same or worse that what I have . The NCY forks looked nice but I have not read in here anyone has used them .
I am 200 lbs and my Echarm is 286 lbs . I would like a slightly taller set of shocks to put more weight on the front some . I have noticed pushing down on the floor with my feet the frame flexes and handles different . Should it have some flex in order to not break , or should the frame be stiff ? I am looking at making a custom brace for forks to stiffen up as I feel unsafe with the wobble that a motorcycle does not have . My Honda Spree was so stable I could go around turns with no hands . Yes I know its stupid but I was a teenager then . I rode a Gator 150 with 12 or 13s and I could slalom with it like my Spree . My Spree I could make insane cornering that others who tried to copy would wreck . I would wreck too on my Echarm if I tried . With 16s it does ride quite well , but does not have wide tires and maneuverability like scooters with doughnuts . I mostly ride alone , but will always welcome a pretty lady to be a passenger ( what guy does not ?)
So in short any feedback and suggestions from those who have upgraded their shocks and forks is needed as well as brands to consider . The main focus is for suspension to not be wobbly and safer at high speeds . I mostly cruise but desire a better suspension that I feel safe when on the interstate with the ever so bumpy roads here .
