I have 12" tires on my Magnum the owners manual has tire pressures for a 10" tire. What pressures are you people with 12" tires running? I took it out for a little run today put about 6 miles on it. It does buzz quite a bit but I need to get used to turning. I don't have the feel yet for taking a sharp turn and keeping up my speed. No trouble keeping up with traffic. I'm sure as time goes on I'll want more performance. ;D
Wat are your opinions on break-in? Slow and easy or run it like you stole it.

GER read the side of the tread. There is a max pressure. You're gonna laugh when I tell you this but all my research on these 255/50-12 tires has me running mine at 12PSI. That seems to be the best for wear and ride quality. I'm 6'1" and close to 200lbs and I like the ride. Sounds low I know but trust me on this. vr, Lee

Lee is right....I run 11 psi on mine and the ride is sweet. My stock 12in tires I ran 4lbs less than the max on the side of the tire.
Ride the trike on side streets making lots of turns and stops for a day or so and you will be a TRIKER... I am or was going thru the same thing going back to 2 wheels as I just got a Honda Reflex

I looked at putting he 255's on my trike but I don't think they will fit. With all the bracing IB added I don't have a lot of room. Having mounted the faring and removed it a few times (it's off now) I may take the tires off before I have to do it again. I'd need new side brackets fabricated and then build up the 2 surfaces where the fairing attaches to the rear of the trike. I don't weld and don't know anyone in the area that does. If I went to a fabrication shop I'm sure it would cost me more than the 255's would to have the work done.

Made a error on front 12 inch tire. It says 660 lbs load capacity 57 p.s.i. cold. A tire is not suppose to be squeezable to the touch. A little give is what I like so not a hard ride. 10 inch is 36 psi.. That I keep 32 psi..
You don't want to ride so much low pressure that the tire just gives out but you don't wish to make it so hard that it blows out neither. Put it this way, you don't wish to be riding the sidewalls.

Max PSI is usually printed on the sidewall of the tire . You do not not have to be a t max but should not exceed it . If you go a lil lower it may have a softer ride as tires absorb bumps like the shocks do . You can kick the tire it should be firm . If the pressure gets too low the tire can come off of the rim . My 10 in tires did this 3xs and itsa pain in the hiney to get the bead the seat on the rim . I think the tires were slightly off and not perfect fitting making it easy to loose seal if low pressure . When it colds the pressure in the tires can drop . If you can get tires inflated with nitrogen instead of air its not affected by temperature changes . You check the tire PSI when they are cold , but if warm from riding PSI on gauge should be 4 to 8 more depending on temp of tires . Hotter expands more resulting in higher PSI .
I see so many on a 50 with passenger on back with tire sagging which makes your tire a maypop . A tire gauge is only a few dollars at any auto parts store , I prefer large dial instead of pen type . I would not get a digital since requires a battery . The large round dial is easy to read with a blowoff valve to let out air if overinflated . I like my tires firm I hate saggy and it can be unsafe when cornering . Just like too much you risk a blowout

I agree to low tire pressure can cause the bead to break the seal especially going at high speeds hit a good bump or pothole and the tire bead may break the seal. Lefty

i have a 300 ice bear magnum and 190-50-12 tires on the rear. the pressure on the side of the tire says 35 pounds but i keep them at 32. that works good for me. maybe 30 would give me a softer ride but you dont want to go too low for fear that the bead would come off the rim. by the way does anybody know where you can find a dealer who sells rear tires that size.thanks......
