This was about the hand brake. Since it is considered a motorcycle the government wants it to have a foot brake. Big deal.

It isn't a "big deal" - just wondering if this company will be able to survive having to recall over 6,000 of these machines to fix this. Actually, I think it is BS putting a foot brake on these - it IS a scooter in my eyes - I would NEVER call these things MOTORCYCLES.

Why not exactly. Please, elucidate and explain to all of us exaxtly how these are not motorised bicycles, which is where the word motorcycle originates.

I say having the gas tank in that location makes it a motorcycle. Back in the day I rode Vespas that had a foot brake and a left hand that was a clutch and changed gears by twisting. Cushmans also had a foot brake and a foot clutch with a shifter on the side below the seat. Motorcycles had foot shifts and brakes but could be on either side. Also the shift pattern could be 1 down and 3 up or 1 up and 3 down. Old Harleys and Indians had foot clutches and hand shifts. The throttle on the Indian turned the opposite way. Somehow we figured it out without the government telling us how it worked.
