Here is url hallicino.hubpages.com/hub/MPG-Guide-The-Fuel-Economy-Of-250-Top-Selling-Scooters I am surprised to see up to 144 MPG wow ! My Echarm manual says I get around 80 MPG more if I putt . I was stuck in traffic today doing 40 which real easy on my engine it purrs , I had a guy in car ask if it was electric . We were at a high volume of traffic so it was noisy overall and my scooter is so quiet since stock and has power so I do not need to be at WOT . I laughed and hit WOT for a sec and backed off since road was crowded . Another scooter was a few places ahead and was so loud with muffler removed and only a 50cc . I plan on having a little thunder soon but enjoy being so quiet I can sneak up on my covert op targets haha . I love to do late night rides in the wee hours since almost no traffic so I get road to myself and not wake up those sleeping

I like waking my neighbors. They are so uptight.

There is NO WAY those top numbers are factory authorized specs. They are most likely owner posts on websites like ecomodding.com that are geared toward getting EVERY POSSIBLE mile out of a tank of fuel. I do question the authenticity of those claims. If I rode my scooter like a "hypermiler" I'm sure I could get over 150 mpg too. However, in a super hilly spot like I'm currently living it's impossible to get those numbers as you have to go back UP the hill you just coasted down.
I *could* try doing a full tank of creeping along, trying for the best gas mileage, but I'd be too tempted to gun the motor and lay down rubber.

Hi I agree with Greg ,those mpg numbers are highly optimistic and quite unbelievable imho My Puma 50 with some stop and go and medium speed long distance driving at around half to 3/4's throttle does at best about 90 to 100 mpg Take care and drive safely Yours Hank

175cc Heinkel gets 80 mpg I just went to a German scooter rally. Dang I saw some sweet Heinkel scooters. I love the flying H. BTW my 72cc is getting 96mpg. Its going up little by little as it breaks in.

I'm happy enough with my mpg.
I have to wonder though, since my speedometer is off by around 10 per cent, my odometer is probably off too. I know that 81 mpg seems a little on the high side on my 150cc. Others seem to get less.

I think I am getting about 80 mpg on my Jonway 150. I plan on doing a test soon. My Royal Enfield, a 500 cc single and Debbie's 250 Honda Rebel both get 75 mpg.

The Jonway 150 in my sig gets 71mpg on average. Highest is 82mpg on a tank and the lowest was 60mpg when I was running the open exhaust system and a 112 jet.

Only 20? For me that would be a smile per day. It's more like 1000 smg for me!

I get around 70 mpg.. It really depends on stop and go traffic or plain highway speed.. Stop and go will be a little less.. Attachments:
