"Roketa" or "SuperiorPowerSports" = DON'T BUY!!! So the delivery truck shows up today and the guy says "We've gotta lift it off. I know you paid for a lift gate delivery, but all our liftgate trucks have been broke down for weeks." WTF!!!! Thing weighs over 350 lbs! Long story short, we managed. But still. Don't ship via "Vision Express"!!! Once off the truck... Pulled the box apart, dismantled the crate, and VERY happy to see whats inside! No visible damage at all! Actually got the model and color I wanted, that was iffy with "SuperiorPowerSports", long story. So I pulled the seat off to start a PDI, that "SuperiorPowerSports" CLAIMED THEY'D ALREADY DONE!!! If they did... FAIL!First thing I saw was that the CDI was mounted backward, so that the wires on the plugs going into it were rubbing the body so bad 4 of the wires were almost cut completely through! Second. This thing has "California Emissions"! "SuperiorPowerSports" specifically said it didn't. Third. The top of the airbox was mashed in and cracked. Fourth. Where the airbox hose is attached to the carburetor inlet. It wasn't! The end of the hose was BARELY on the carb at all. The clamp was doing nothing. Fifth. I found three vacuum hoses (there are dozens on this thing because the emissions) that were kinked completely shut where there's NO WAY air would have traveled through them. Sixth, and on. Found two different vacuum lines each missing a clamp. There was a mark on the hose where a clamp HAD been, but was now missing. Then found one vacuum line for the emissions completely missing! The fuel tank vent hose was routed so as to quickly be cut by a sharp edge on the frame. The bolts that hold the seat latch to the seat were over tightened and one is stripped through the plastic. The rear light wiring was tangled all around the starter solenoid and frame in a mess. The lead wire for the spark plug was rubbing against a sharp edge of the frame. It goes on and on!!! The good? I got the model and color I wanted, and it arrived without shipping damage. ;D ;D It came with a legit wiring diagram and fair documentation!!! ;D I poured a little gas in it and it did actually start and run (didn't even bother trying to ride it yet). All the hoses are very soft, but seem good quality and are labeled DOT approved. As are the tires (I'd already bought replacement clear urethane hose though, sooo. All in all, I've got a TON of work to do removing all the California emissions mess / dead weight. And may end up replacing the head in order to do it "correctly". Gotta replace the AMAZINGLY restrictive / broken air box with an open element air filter (didn't really want one, but...). Replace all the hoses / fuel filter. Then completely re-start another PDI and change the fluids. SIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHH........ We JUST bought two SunL scoots from another dealer and I didn't find hardly a single thing bad with either of them when I did the PDI! Just put in gas, checked everything over, and they were ready!!! Got those on Ebay from "Motorsportsparts". GREAT DEALER!!!! "Motorsportsparts" didn't have the model I wanted, But if I'd only known!

Great info on PDI ! I have seen some great deals online but worried about shipping damages and if it had issues if I had to ship it back around 260 or take to authorized dealer for warranty claims . I bought my scooter from a local dealer thats closeby and I fully trust ,which is important to me . Most other dealers seemed shady and were not knowledgeable about their products . When you make a purchase its great to know you will have support for questions and issues , and they speak English as a first language . Since I decided to spend over a grand I required a warranty and Cfmoto is only one with a 2 year warranty . Local dealers here offer a 30/30 meaning 30 miles or 30 minutes whichever comes first lol . Some have 30 to 90 day limited warranty , but buying new I think it should last longer than the warranty .If I only spent 500 and scooter was considered a big boy toy and planned on wrenching as required on most , I would expect part replacements . Since I rely on my scooter as sole means of transportation to college and all other places , I want to ride instead of push it . Another reason to go new is most people abuse their scooter and sell it just before it dies . I plan on getting some used one to play around with , ad a BBK and resell next year .
Do many of us here order their scooters online or get from local dealer ? Thanks for the warning bigcheesestick and I hope things work out for you . Maybe next you can do research on seller from customers and BBB prior to next purchase . I am grateful my dealer already assembled and prepped my scooter so all I had to do was insert the key and ride , even had a full tank of gas woohoo .

I've got a car, so this thing is really just for fun, and saving gas money. It was fully assembled, and supposed to be "ready to ride". HA. Just ordered a Uni Filter, 115 and 120 jets (altitude here is about 3' above sea level!), and fuel filters from PartsforScooters. I'll have my hands full taking care of the other stuff till those parts get here. Actually I didn't get that far into the PDI before finding and attempting to fix all this stuff. Still have a long way to go, and an alarm to install. Ughhhhhhh........... Sucker had better REALLY run nice after all this!

Oh, but "SuperiorPowerSports" job of doing a PDI gets even better!Drained the gear oil today and there was AT LEAST two or three different fluids in there! Actually I'd say one of them was water by the cloudiness of one of the other two fluids. I was surprised to see there was already a good bit of VERY, VERY fine metal throughout the fluid to. Same as you find after a few hundred miles... (There's 9/10th's of a mile on the odometer, and its obvious the scooter hasn't been used). Then pulled out the motor oil dip stick and found it'd been filled to the very top! Yeah, at this point its just funny! When I pulled out the dip stick oil trickled out. LOTS of small casting flakes in the pan! More than I found in all 5 other new scoots I've changed together. And a TEENY pc of red and black rag on the filter. Drained it, and refilled to the proper level with 15w40 for break in. Then checked the tires. Rated at 32psi. Rear was 40, Front was 22... Another . Now set at 30, and 28. Parts store called and said the 120 main jet I ordered is out of stock for weeks, so I'm gonna try the 115 I ordered when the new Uni-filter comes. Yellow = Looks great, three strangers have already stopped to compliment it and it hasn't moved from the parking spot I uncrated it in. But also clearly means bad luck in Chinese! ;D

It's a "Roketa 75-150", or you may like to call it a "GSA-150", "YMC-75L-150", or a "HT150L-3A", or theres a pretty looking emblem on the front that says "Lintex" who after internet research I found call it a "Flying Fox" . Then there's half a dozen other allieses its sold under. Looks good though! Haven't found any bad welds yet, and I'm blown away that ALL of the components appear to be VERY good quality compared to other Chinese scooters. They just need to stop hitting the little drugged up 5 year old kids who do the assembly so much! Superiorpowersports price changes every three of four days! But this is it. www.superiorpowersports.com/150cc_Gas_Scooter_p/rk150sc-75.htm

For $30 more than my 50cc scooter cost...you can't complain. $729 for a 150 is as cheap as it gets- ya can't expect too much. If it runs and rides nice after the real PDI, consider yourself lucky. And doesn't look like a bad scoot for that amazingly cheap price.
The quality of these cheap-O chinx scoots has really improved lately. Just looking at the quality of the plastics; the electrical components; tires, etc. on my new Tao Tao scooter and comparing them to my '08 Tao Tao ATV...the improvement is remarkable!
Got mine from MYATVS.com...and it truly was ready to ride, even though it wasn't advertised as such. (Of course, I'm slowly doing the PDI as I go along...)

The two scoots we bought on ebay arrived in GREAT shape. I was expecting the same. ESPECIALLY when the dealer promises a complete PDI, and "tune up" is done before shipment, and they brag about how thorough they are for pages and pages on their web site. Motorsportsparts is a GREAT dealer. They didn't claim to do a PDI and everything still arrived fine. My problem is with "Superior" making total BS claims! And Roketa's assembly. How many of these things do they build a day??? And still put parts on backward? Really?

So, Ya ordered a scoot from a dropshiper and found some problems. I don't see the big deal. Anything from a crate will need to have a PDI. I would not get so upset over work that ya should have known was coming. Did you expect to uncrate and start her up??? That is your mistake not the seller. Was the front wheel installed? If so they did a PDI just not a good one. That's exactly why it is recommended to do your own to find the problems you did. I am puzzled about the Lift gate though. If you paid for it why except delivery??? Oh and it does not take a TON of work to remove the emissions crap. Just my Random opinion. Next time buy from a local B&M store. so you can drive off the lot. You got exactly what you paid for. IMO your nit pickin on thing that need to be done anyway, I mean tire pressure really??? That's the stuff your supposed to check anyway!!!! Looks as though you missed most all of what the point of the forum. There are better brands out there, and better dealers. If your happy to accept ANYTHING that arrives at your door, that's cool! But why would you even be in this part of the forum? Being the IDEAL consumer... Is there anything you'd like to buy soon? I'll be happy to be the one to sell it to you! ;D You name it! Over inflating a tire by 10 psi is good in your book as well?

my superior gold BMS 180 cc arrived on a pallet and i put gas in and drove it.
The PDI was great, which included free spare fuses and light bulbs.
why did you spend your own money on repairs and replacement parts, they have been real good to folks about that.
did you call them before going off the air here.
I think you got screwed, but Superior is famous for unscrewing folks to make up for it.
BMS is right down the road from them and far better to order their bikes, bms customers have to be happy or superiour will lose franchise.
man buying a 800.00 bike is a iffy business.
P.S. your California carb stuff will take you a hour to deal with, watch exhaust hose, .plug it with a hard wire nut and zip tie or you could have a fire.

Maybe mine got "PDI'd" after he drank lunch on a Friday. Other than the cracked airbox lid, there's nothing they can fix now that it's here. I don't mind replacing the stock airbox just because with it sitting directly over the engine it's not going to get anything but hot air anyway. So that small part of it all is no big deal. Till I got this scoot I've always been shocked so many people have as many problems as you hear about with Chinese scoots. All our others have been great! Just TOTALLY IGNORE SPS's lies about "inspecting, tuning, and doing a PDI" is the lesson I guess.

I don't know how it is in PR, but here where I live, buying from a local (2 hours away) dealer isn't an option, as they want $1400 for a $600 Sunny POS.
Basically, if you buy a Chinese scooter, it's a do-it-yourself preposition......if ya start paying dealer profit and labor for PDIs and what-not, it adds so much to the cost, it is no longer economically sound to buy Chinese......

I know some things come screwed up and some of us don't have dealers nearby (me for one) but I have had good luck with superiormotorsports for the most part have bought two so far and am awaiting another here shortly. For one thing they do offer competitive prices and they do put the thing together ( well they did in 10/2010 & 3/2011 ) but as we all know we and I mean WE are supposed to check everything anyway just to make sure and I have had all sorts of fluids that looked well let's just say they didn't look like anything I've ever seen come out when we drain em but from all I have gleaned it is shipping fluid anyway so there you are. The whole idea from what I have read is saving money and even a pilot walks around the airplane checking things just to make sure. Heck I had a MGB for years and years and all I ever heard was how this and that goes wrong but what it is you have to take an interest and lift the hood and check things and be able to do a little wrench turning and be inquisitive especially on things of this nature...shoot I even had people that didn't know you were supposed to put oil in the carb dampers! for crying out loud and everything vibrates loose on things just ask an old Harley guy about pre-85 Harleys you always saw em on the side of the rode but for some its just gas and go and they will always be making a lot of noise......and for the record I had a Mercedes that needed tending to also so all things engine and friction needs tending just remember that little fact and you'll be ok.

Hello sir, my name is Josh, I am the service manager here at Superiorpowersports.com and I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. In regards to your statement that the PDI was not completed, I can assure you that it was, we keep a completed PDI video for each order that is available at the customers request to see that your order was taken care of correctly. On our website it shows everything we do in a PDI, I am sorry that the air box was not seen as that is not part of our PDI to take the air box out to inspect it, primarily due to its location, but we thank you for your feedback and we will make it a part of our PDI’s in the future to inspect the air box before the unit is released. If you were to send that part in, we can take it to the manufacture to be changed out for you. The CDI you mention as being mounted on backwards, this part actually has no wrong or right way to be mounted, as long as the wires are connected the part will work. Regarding the California Emissions, the reason these scooters are not for sale in California is because they do not have the emission control systems on them so they can not be register in California for this reason. Now during the PDI, your unit was test driven, which is why your scooter had milage on it when you received it, this shows that your scooter was test driven, and with the hoses you said were disconnected, this would not have been possible, the unit would not be able to fire up with disconnected vacuum and air hoses. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to assist you in any way I can. Thank you. Josh. L.

JOSH glad to see you are still there a year later from my purchase. Think it is cooler then most all dealers that you chime in here and i believe most all of what you say. Sorry to see your selling roketa bikes but i guess your boss's know they will lose many sales if they don't sell a 800.00 bike and pretty sure BMS will not sell one cause it can't be done with out a lot of problems, but have not looked lately. Josh, i know my self, I inventory my emotional quality often, i know my speed and my temperament if every there was a psycho fanatic day of my life it was the day my scoot arrived, I was a little rude to you, which there is little excuse for, but you got on the phone with me for the whole "un clip from pallet" and ride drill, no box, nothing except mirrors to go on gas in and ride. almost ten thousand miles latter I have had almost ZERO problems with this 200 cc 16 inch tire mini motor cycle. it always gets me home. All probs i have had were related to me doing things wrong. But i have read many stories here that were very bad deliveries, but if called you folks always replaced a part, sometimes paid for repairs across the nation. Most folks know better business is a whore house, ratings are down to zero meaning, but this scoot site carries real weight. It does a world of good for you to come in here and bark back with kindness and help, most of these folks are in shock at the complete loss of law and protections in this country, they will not tell you that because they are too proud, but the fact is "Dog eat dog" has taken on a whole new barbarian meaning here, and you get the blow off. As such you are in a position to help the world in a big way. I pray you some how find the time to do that in winter months and build that business into being the most trusted in the business. And try to help on bike arrival, as it is a hysterical experience at best and I have seen you folks make mine one of the best I have ever read of someone having. I am just sad as h3ll xingyue/bms discontinued the "Pathfinder" one of the best LOOKING/designed bikes out there. Attachments:

Don't be fooled by "The Big Cheese", he got a mess for sure, we all agree on that!!!!, but he has as of yet tried to do something creative about it, and you don't see any body refusing to answer the phone to help him. BMS makes as good a bike as any company out there selling non corporate dominated bikes. you did a real good turn to your self, this company sells 900,000 bikes a year, how often you see one here and the owner is screaming, rare except scooterdude who it became apparent had no talent for fixing anything but a u-tube up load, and if any one thinks i am being mean, just look at his posts and questions.
BMS has as good a parts supply to it customers as any company out there, Honda, included, whom for a while BMS was the importer for, along with ducati.
Here's the parts page just for your bike--- www.bmsmotorparts.com/index.phpShow me another bike with its own corporate parts page.
And BMS home office will rip a dealer a new butt for not taking care of it's customers.
What you need to do right now is contact BMS, and let them start tracking this order with you.
give your self world visibility.

TERRA NUVO,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, I believe I did Do Good. I went with my gut on the BMS line and so far my experience has been positive. I received timely and pleasant communications from SPS and also received my first choice colour (back). All paperwork needed came with the scoot (have not registered it yet but do not anticipate any problems...)
My Palazzo 150 was delivered in great shape, one small dent on the outer exhaust shield but that's it. All electrical works fine and fit and finish is very nice. I am happy a windshield and trunk came with. Put gas in her and she started right up with no problems. Seems to lose speed as I accelerate, however. Will get to that.
I am scramblin' to learn as much as I can and visit this board often, just getting the lingo down and part names can be a challenge. Perhaps I may not become my own scooter mechanic but I hope to at least change the fluids, understand and work with those who are.
Having learned enough from this forum to know that you must followup with your own PDI, I ordered a motorcycle/scooter carrier to take it to a local scooter shop who will do a thorough PDI - should arrive next week.
I am impressed with the battery as it's staying charged and starts right up every 2-4 days (busy schedule and scoot is not at my place as I must sell a vintage car for the garage space - argh). I do not set the alarm but am glad I have it. Very loud and annoying. Hah!
I love my scooter, the weight/height is perfect as I am 5'3". I am also not put off by any little fixes needed here and there in the future as I feel I made a great decision and will really enjoy it come spring.

The fact that the front wheel is installed on the scooter when you get it has nothing to do with a PDI. Every bike we sell comes with the front wheel installed at the factory. We tried to get them with the wheel off to save shipping cost but found way too many problems with bikes shipped that way.
As far as BMS selling a scooter for $800, that will never happen since the cost to get Znen scooters to the states would make it prohibitive.

Only one scooter we've ever sold had the front tire unattached. It's common now to have the front tire attached. Plug in a battery and some gas, and ALL the scooters we've sold started right up. Not that they were anywhere near being ready for delivery as they had LOTS of things that needed to be checked and replaced.

FREE residential lift gate delivery( $85 value FREE!)
FREE MCO and bill of sale ($35 value FREE!) SORRY, but aren't those REQUIRED documents for all new vehicles?? who would CHARGE for a bill of sale??
FREE tool kit ($25 value FREE!) really? that CRAPPY pouch of stamped toy tools is a $25 value??? FREE owners manual ($15 value) Sorry, but isnt an owners manual REQUIRED and standard? I'd hate to pay$15 for that chinglish manual that tells me to park in a PLAIN place to not obstruct traffic.

The tool kit is FREE with almost every scooter from the factory as is the top box. It's funny how people try to capitalize on it, and some people actually believe the hype.
And yes, I do advertise the FREE TOP BOX in my ads in various locations.
On another note, the liftgate service DOES cost at least $50 from each shipper I've used to ship scooters.
