We have two 300cc with about 500 miles on them. One runs great but the other has developed a grinding noise in the rear end. How do you lock out the reverse.

blecroy: There are several ways. First if you have the means to jack up the rear end you may want to do so for the clearance. Climb under the back and on top of the rear differential you will see a lever about 4 to 5 inches long. It is connectged to the forward reverse handle on your trike. The quickest and easiest way is to take wire or a heavy duty zip tie and push the lever to the fully forward position (forward position in relation to the trike being in forward) and then zip tie it or wire it to the frame in that position so that you cannot move the forward/reverse handle mounted on the handlebars. There are some "cleaner" ways to do this fix and only your imagination will hold you back. Pick what is best for you. Also while you are under there. If you have had noise I would drain the fluid and replace it. Chech the old oil that comes out for any major metal gear damge. Drain is on the bottom and fill is on the top. Should take about 10 to 12 ounces of gear oil 80-90W is fine. If you take the rear deck off access is very easy but it can be done from the bottom. Good luck.

Good Evening I changed the oil and it helped. Now it seams to be cutting out. It has always been harder to start and ran rougher than the 300cc the wife rides but now it is cutting out when you accelerate bad enough that the hole bike jerks Is there a carb adjustment and a timing adjustment I have already went to a better plug on both scooters

The air/fuel mixture screw is on the bottom of the carb and is a bear to adjust if you don't have a very small screwdriver. You can loosen the carb from the intake manifold and turn the carb sideways some for better access, tighten the carb back up, start the machine and then adjust it. Adjusting the carb is a slow process. First turn the air/fuel mixture screw a 1/4 turn clockwise. let the machine stabilize ( a few seconds) if the idle goes up then continue this process a 1/4 turn at a time until peak RPM has been reached then back off 1/8 a trun. If the idle did not increase then try counter clockwise. If still doesn't work then you have a carb issue and the carb needs to come off the machine and cleaned.
There is not a timing adjustment.
Hope this helps.

Good Evening My300cc started to knock in the rear end. I found the sprocket shaft in the rear end came loss. It will move in and out about 1/2" I took the rear end out from under the scooter but need a little more info on how to open up the rear end so I can check out the problem. I can not find a manual on the 300cc ice bear and we have no repair shops around here that will work on import scooters. Thank you Bobby
