276 from Brevard is another great road that crosses the BRP. Goes past Looking Glass Falls on the Brevard side of the BRP. I have taken it many times and never tire of it.

Algears - can you give more info about route 276, like the distance from Rte 280 to the Parkway and 276 from the parkway to Rte 215? Thanks. It looks like a great ride, maye some interesting loops could be created.

I don't know exact miles, but I'm guessing it's about 10 miles from 280/276 up to the Parkway. By the way, there is good BBQ place on the left right after you turn from 280 on to 276 (Hawg Wild). It makes a good stopping/starting point and there is gas on the other side of the intersection.
My guess is it's another 10 miles or so from the Parkway south to 215. If I remember correctly, the Graveyard Fields is on that Parkway stretch. It's a very popular rest/hiking spot and worth a stop and short hike to see some small waterfalls (distances to falls are posted there).
ANY stretch on the Blue Ridge Parkway is worth it. I cut my 2 wheel teeth learning to ride on it - from the southern end at Cherokee up to Mt Mitchell (highest point east of the Mississippi). North of that, I've only so far gone up to Craggy Gardens (nice Welcome Center/Gift shop).
Always bring rain gear when traveling on the BRP - I don't care what the weather forecast says - my personal experience says it can rain any day, especially the section from Brevard to Mt Mitchell. And it is considerably cooler up on the Parkway - even more so if you go to Mt Mitchell.
There are tons of beautiful riding roads in western NC and upstate SC. Lake Lure is another popular destination heading east from Asheville. I lived in Asheville for 13 years.
Enjoy the rides!
