Well this is a possible ride I may have to take. Long story short, the master room mate who I paid my rent to pocketed the cash and left us with a $1500 bill.... nice huh? Anyways, its all in his name so not my problem. What my problem is, now I have to move and I have to do it soon. Problem is I have no income coming in to find a place until the restrictions are gone. But I have an offer to buy my computer gear for $700 cash.
Been out of work for 5 weeks due to the broken collar bone but I am much better and able to ride. But I dont want to get a few hundred miles in and go "Oww oww oww oww"
But I have been wanting to go on a cross country trip since I have been riding bikes and mine is ready to make the trip. I have been working on it for months getting it ready for a big trip.
The reason why I may ride to Michigan is my sister lives back there and is offering me a place to stay until I get on my feet again.
I have purchased everything I need minus a tent for the trip.
Spare Tube Spark plugs Tools Magnesium Fire Starter LED Flares Light Extra Oil 1ltr canister for emergency gas Spare clothing Rain Gear Phone with charger and lots of memory for photo's Music GPS Dried Food Water bottles
Anything else you could think of that I may need?

How many miles is it and what is your route? We have a 8 by 10 tent that packs pretty small. If you need to wait out a storm you have plenty of room and can bring the scooter inside with you. I would plan on 175-200 miles a day at the most. Horse saddlebags work well with zip lock bags for water protection and are cheap. I have an extra large milk crate hinged at the rear on the top box mount to give underseat access. Large horse saddlebags and a small crate for the floorboard. It ain't pretty (been told its too ugly to be a rat bike) but it works. Be nice to your Honda. At every gas stop give it a cool down period and check your oil before taking off again. IMO don't run wot for extended periods. Back off to 80% 75% is better. Its a marathon, not a sprint.

Oh I have it loaded down pretty good, I have purchased horse sattlebags about 7 months ago and find them very useful. As far as storage in the rear, I dont have a trunck, but I am using a dufflebad/luggage bag with support so it does not sag. And I have that ratchet strapped to the rear. A bonus is it gives me a backrest which is nice. I also have a waist bag clipped around the front for small items like keys, paperwork etc. As far as WOT I know the drill and I ride it very easy on long trips. A few months ago I did a 250 mile trip in 1 day, most of the day was spent at the beach but I had it loaded down a bit and it didnt give me any problems besides my idle screw goofing up a bit and needing readjustment. Yeah im that homeless guy under the bridge who demands money from people who try to pass, and runs a toll. Kidding aside, its a 65+ park where my mom and her husband live. I had crashed just outside the park entrance coming to visit, If I had landed inside they would have had to pay my medical bills.

Loaded down, those hills in Tenn. and Kent. are gonna be scooter killers without the right set-up. I hope you have your rollars/torque spring adjusted right to deal with them...

Glad you don't have to make the trip now, but you might want to consider doing it sometime in the future.
I rode from CT to MI this summer, (had a much bigger scoot though), and had a wonderful trip, (except for the extreme heat and humidity on the way home). I really love long distance riding.
With a small machine, you would have to take your time, but if you find the right roads, you could have a fabulous trip, the trip of a lifetime.
Good luck finding work and housing.
