Hi all,
Just bought a Cixi Sunny Hybrid. My first scooter. Bought it on-line so was grateful for the articles on this forum to get it running, but then you've heard that many times before!
Bought it to a) commute along the beach to work on occasion (I work near Huntington Beach, CA), b) to stick on the back of the RV at weekends, c) use as a pit bike, and d) for fun. I'm a bit of a tech-head so was interested in the hybrid concept.
If anyone wants a detailed review I would be happy to share, but in summary: - Float value was rusty so engine would not run initially. - Electric or hybrid mode accelerates from standing start way too slow to be of value in traffic, so in traffic I use gas mode only. Might upgrade the current rating of the batteries one day. - Also in Hybrid mode the engine dies when you get below about 5 mph, which if you have timed a lights change can be very embarassing! Another reason to use gas mode in traffic. - Engine pings at high speed or on hills, even with the required 90 gas. Main jet was a 70, so I've upgraded that to a 74. Dont yet know if that has fixed the problem.
That's it so far. Thanks for the helpful articles. This newbie would have had a much more difficult scooting introduction without the wise ones on this forum willing to share their knowledge.
