I wanted to share this for those of you who might be looking for an exhaust upgrade for the Honda Clone but don't want to spend $400 on an MRP system. If you search Ebay or www.ioffer.com for "CN250 muffler" you will come across several different auctions for the same series of exhaust systems. Each of these different usernames/internet stores are all owned by the same guy... some dude named Justin. He seems to have a monopoly on the supply of this type of exhaust. I even searched Chinese distributors direclty and Alibaba, but couldn't come up with one. No biggie though. Justin is nice enough and accepted my offer of $175 including shipping. Chrome quality is decent and the build quality is very solid. It's a good quality pipe. You won't regret the purchase, should you make it. There is even a single internal baffle which reduces some of the obnoxious straight pipe sound that I dislike about MRP exhausts. I have already experienced some discoloring but I blame myself for most of that. Right after installation, I took the bike for a test ride and discovered upon returning home that I was WAAAY lean. I blued/yellowed the headpipe and the tip of the muffler started to discolor as well. So lastnight I pulled the carb and found a factory 110 main jet. I went ahead and made the jump to a 130, which is a little rich, but should leave enough room for me to install pod filters if I so choose in the future. Also, it is significantly lighter than the stock exhaust on these bikes and it makes a nice small profile from the rear, as you can see in the last photo. This exhaust is designed to match the header of all the CN250 engines, but you might have to design your own mounting bracket if you don't have a scooter. For those with a scooter, it comes with a chrome bracket. Anyway, enough babbling. Here are the Photos: (Bike is a 2007 Qlink Legacy 250)

Did you notice a performance increase? also other then the carb jet is the rest of the bike stock? thanks.

I need a muffler for my Honda Helix restore. I may go with this one. You won't be disappointed, but you'll definately have to rejet. It's a very smooth pipe finish on the inside and that stuff moves pretty fast.

Did you notice a performance increase? also other then the carb jet is the rest of the bike stock? thanks. Yes, the rest of the bike is stock, and yes, I have already noticed a performance increase. Now, I should preface that by saying it is not a top speed increase, because I'm running too rich right now but I'll dial that back later. (Better to be rich and keep the engine cool than to be lean and melt my valves.) The bottom end is not as choppy as it was on my bike when I first got it and the mid range seems to spool up much quicker. I can shoot from 15-40mph without the bike working at all. I crack the throttle and I'm aleady knocking on 40-45 mph. Before the pipe, I had to open the throttle more than I do now. 55-60 feels smoother and not as buzzy. I attribute some of this to the pipe and some of it to the rejet. (I was kinda lean before) The sound is not droning and bothersome. It's loud enough to hear what the engine is doing, and it's a deep enough sound to enjoy having a pipe of the bike, but it's not buzzy or annoying. I need a muffler for my Honda Helix restore. I may go with this one. Be careful. I can't think of anyone having any luck with aftermarket exhaust working on a Helix. Back pressure is everything on them and Honda got it right the first time.

Will that fit on my bike, my pipe looks exactly like that, but doesnt have that deep grunt, and it actually seems like a restriction in the actual guts of my pipe. Trust me if you hear my dirt bike with dual overbored exhaust you wouldnt want to hear anythimg else lol

Btw my pipe is kinda tilted at a slanted angle, will it. Work? Trust me if you hear my dirt bike with dual overbored exhaust you wouldnt want to hear anythimg else lol

This is the guy that sells the one I bought. Shoot him an email and see what comes back. Or, heck, just get the carbon fiber one... looks pretty rad.

Worst case scenario, you'll have to fab up your own mounting bracket. But the whole package comes with two hanger straps and a chrome mounting bracket, so you should be able to figure something out

Many make the exhaust tone louder or deeper, and look better, but make the scoot run for crap. Even after rejetting. The problem is not the fuel mixture but backpressure, or lack off when changing to a performance muffler. Its not the best looking but the Honda muffler is the one for the job. Maybe have it chromed and have the guard powder-coated black would help.

They offer the factory Helix muffler in all chrome for $110 on ioffer. Those $110 mufflers are chinese knock-offs, not OEM Honda. Quality is hit or miss and usually get about a year of regular use out of them before the baffles rust and break apart. A new OEM muffler will run about $340 but it will last many years. Best option if your need one is to find a good used one.

He knows they are Chinese, When he said "factory" he was referring to the design which is the same as the stock Honda muffler as opposed to the straight after market look of the muffler he installed. Can you point us to firsthand experience /discussion on which you are basing your opinion? I don't understand why the baffles would rust any faster on the Chinese clones than the originals. How would moisture make it's way into the Chinese muffler any faster than the original? For what it's worth I belong to the Helix forums and plenty of people have the clones and as far as I can tell, know-one is complaining about rusted out mufflers after a year. Personally I would never take the chance on a used Honda helix muffler. Every one of them I hear on youtube has rusted out baffles and the owners don't even know it. If you go to the Helix forums you will find Helix owners complaining about the longevity and durability of the OEM muffler... Me included. I own two Helixes. If the Chinese muffler lasts 1/3 the time as the OEM than it's a wash but after comparing side by side a number of Chinese and Japanese parts (I bought a Chinese clutch bell and clutch assembly) I doubt very much that the Chinese muffler will only last a year or so. I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I'm buying two of them for my scooters. As I understand things, many of the Japanese parts are now made in China so who knows what you are getting. I think we live in an age of manufacture where the technology is almost idiot proof. I play the guitar and I recently bought a brand new Acoustic guitar for $35 of of ebay. I bought it after my brother told me how amazing it was for $35. I did'nt believe him so I bought one expecting complete junk. For $35 or $135 it is amazing. The CNC machine changed every thing. You program the machine and it spits the product out with amazing consistency. This does mean everything is of a high standard but it does mean that there is less and less ways to screw things up.
