I ended up getting this bike:
www.skpowersports.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Scooter+150+Bold
It was advertised as ships in 1-2 days, fully assembled, new style.
That is exactly what I got. I charged the battery (hmmm, a battery that was fully charged in less than 20 min on a trickle charger seems a bit suspicious to me...), put gas in, and it started right up.
The shipping company took a couple extra days to actually deliver it, but it got to them faster than it takes the USPS to mail me a postcard. The shipping guy commented that that was absolutely the most well packaged scooter he'd ever delivered, and apparently he delivered a lot in 2009 when "gas prices went up". It was in a metal cage, wrapped in bubble wrap (who doesn't love bubble wrap?), in a heavy duty cardboard box, and was strapped with a ratchet strap (free strap!) to a sturdy pallet. Impressive.
It was 99% assembled - just needing the mirrors and trunk attached (I see why they don't assemble these - they are a total PAIN!). The included MCO looks perfect, and I'm going to try to register it tomorrow.
My only complaint: I wrote an email to them asking what colors they had ready to ship immediately, as I wanted yellow. They wrote back (within a couple of hours) that they had yellow, red, blue, and black. I ordered an hour later with first choice yellow, and I received my second choice. Not a problem - if I really wanted yellow I could have put that as my second choice too and waited, but it would have been nice if they had originally replied that they weren't sure what was in stock or something similar.
I even found $20 off and 3% discount coupon codes for my purchase. I'm very happy with them. So far so good!
