Hey guys: I've got a Magnum 300 and I'm looking for a photo of the top of the fuel tank. Anybody got one? I think my fuel gauge is fairly far off (empty when I still show 2 bars) and I would like to adjust the float a little closer to actual values. Lefty you've probably already done this before...got any photo's?? vr, Lee

Yes he can tell ya how and show you pictures too...On mine is 1/2 gal approx when in the red, when it blinks red you better hope you can see the station as she is almost dry. When filled it goes only to 3/4 but i know and run the trip meter for fill up.

I did a thread back a while ago with pictures. My tank is in front and it holds 4.8 gallons. The Float Sensor is on mine is about Half way on the side of the tank. I have taken it out and adjusted the Float by bending the Wire UP so that it would register Close to Empty when it gets into the RED SQUARE on my fuel gauge. On mine sine it is almost 5 gallons it will register FULL until about 1 1/2 gallons are gone. The Reason for that is the FLOAT IS ACTUALLY UNDER WATER as they say because the Sensor only Swivels so much up and down. So once the Gas Level lowers enough so that the Actual FLoat is actually Floating the guage starts to move down. But the Important thing is to know when your running low and that is what I fixed it to register. So now the guage will register in the Square Red Block when I have about 1 1/2 gallons left. Lefty Here is the thread I did back awhile ago with pictures: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tipsandtricks&action=display&thread=31965

Thx Lefty: Might leave it alone. I went out yesterday to crank it up and all of a sudden it wouldn't start. Cranked and cranked but wouldn't fire. Fuel gauage was 2 bars above the red so I didn't think it was out of gas. Checked plug and had spark, checked air cleaner...also good. Put a little gas in and varoom. Filled the tank and all was good. So I think my gauge is way off which isn't a big deal I can always go off the odometer...just irritating not to have a semi accurate fuel gauge. vr, Lee

Lee, In your case you have to bend the Float Wire Down. Lefty

The gas tank on the Mag is 12Liters. Answer: 12 L = 3.17006 gal(US Liq) OR 3 gal(US Liq) and 1.36 pt (US Liq). Alleyoop
