I would be suspect of the the valves (in need of adjustment). Most people adjustment them to around .004 and .006 The fuel filter is not easy to access (if its anything like the Magnum 300). Probably on the top side of the fuel tank. Find the fuel line coming out of the tank and follow it down to the carb. If by chance it doesn't have one PUT ONE ON IT!! One last thing the fuel lines from China are pretty crappy and kink easily. I would replace all the fuel lines while you are at it. vr, Lee

Chopper: One last thing I would probably look at the fuel air mixture as well. Confirm you are a single carb?? If so look on the bottom side and you should see a metal cap on the carb. If you carefully pry that off the screw under it is your air fuel ratio screw...gives you richer or leaner mixture. From the factory most are set a little rich. Turning the screw in (clockwise as you are looking at the top of the screw) will lean it out. Do 1/4 turn at a time and test drive unless you are able to hear the difference well (which some people can). After you are done with adjusting the screw put a rubber cap on it from your local auto parts store. If by chance you are dual carb, which I don't think you are, you would have some synchro issues to deal with.

This is a Lifan engine. The plugs should be set at 0.6 to 0.7 mm

chopperwebb, So what is the skinny on your trike? I read that the Road Warrior can only do 53.9 mph. Is that true? What is the top end speed on your trike? How does it handle large hills. I am thinking about this trike but I have to be able to go up mountain roads as I live at the base of MT Rainier. And I have to be able to cruise at 55-60 mph on the highway as I have at least a 30 mile stretch(one way) before I hit the city limits. So I am waiting on your review of the road Warrior. How do you like it? Any problems? How many miles have you put on it? Any other info you would care to share? You can pm me if you want to. Thanks Triker98304.

Triker98304, The Warriror Trike are heavy and will not do 55-60, some can only get 50mph out of them. They have a good amount of torque due to the two cylinders BUT they are really 125ccs so top end is not there . And at 50mph you are at Wide Open Throttle. You would be better off with a 300cc Trike for the speeds you need and power going up hills, the 300s will do over 60 mph easy. Lefty

ive had it on the interstate doing 60 but its wide open. as far as problems go ive had a few. its actually my dads trike and hes in his 70s. he bought it from a dealer and paid extra to have the guy locktight the bolts and change the fluids out. we had it 3 days and within 100 miles the rearend gears broke. does anyone know if they are shipped with fluid in the rear? that took 6 weeks to fix. we got the trike back and the bolts came out on the little cone things on the handle bars. i replaced them. then the air filter came off on the road and the rear end is leaking and it cuts out at wot. i got good advice on here but took it back to the dealer since its under warranty but on the way there the front shock fell off as i was doing about 40mph! now if hat was my dad on it and the shock went thru the back tire it woulda been bad! so now its back in the shop and hes had it 4 months an put less than 100 miles on it. shouldnt the dealer be responsible since he was paid to make sure it didnt fall apart? i coulda saved the 600$ extra we paid if its gonna fall apart anyway an also the guy says if we dont leave itin his shop its gonna void are warranty! he told us 10 days ago the part would take 4 days and after we finally get a tracking number we find out its not even in the us yet. last thing i work at compcams and can make the part missing on the shock for free but he says if i do no more warranty. this was suppose to give my dad some joy not an ear full from my mom about a bike shes barely seen...

Chopper: Well complicated answer to give. To gain more speed there are a number of things you can do...however before you start you need to make sure everything is perfect (ie, valves gap, air fuel ratio mix is good, etc). After you are comfortable everything is set right you could 1) change tire size 1) change gearing 3) different heads 4) affect intake and exhaust for better breathing (which will once again require an air fuel adjustment). Call Jim at Rapid Repair and he may be able to do some of the work for you depending on what you want and your wallet size. You can always go faster but as they always say greater speed costs money. I know because I'v done so with my hot rods over the years. Good luck

Chopper if you check thru the threads I posted a while back about changing my fuel pump over to an electric one and I love it. One of the best things I have done in my opinion.
