I am looking at the possibility of buying a MC_D150TKA - the new reverse trike with wheels in the front that slant on turns.
The only source I have found so far is from Sunny Sports in Chino, CA. and there is no way I want to deal with this company. I have read too many complaints and checked with the Chino BBB - their report was not good.
Is there a reputable company that handles this trike?

Well - after searching further in this forum I found that Motobuys carries this bike - but it is listed as MTB-15. After checking with BBB and reading further, it seems that this is a good company to do business with.
Any other sggestions?
Thanks for you help. I have not posted often in the forum but I have been reading a lot - some great people in this forum. I have enjoyed and learned from your posts.

Sarge - I read your post and viewed the videos. Glad you are getting your MTB-15. I have a retired butt as well - plus a TIA a couple years ago and I am looking for a trike of some sort. I will be interested in your report when your trike comes in. Thanks for your response I plan on giving Motobuys a call and see what gives. I have a feeling that these are going to be very popular if the quality is as good as it appears.

Make sure yu ride one first.....also try the trike with 3 wheels in th back. I tried the Spider and did not like the way it handled, I ride a Magnum with the 2 wheels on the rear...the only way to scoot

Mike -You are correct - I would like to rider one first - the problem is in finding one.
Edfr - Unless I am mistaken - and I often am - minibikesplus and scooterdepot.us are part of the Sunny Sports distribution network and I am not sure I want to deal with them.
Obviously I am still looking. I am wind up getting a trike from or through Rapid Jim. Thanks again for all of your input. It is very helpful. John

Superiorpowersports, Motobuys and a Few other reputable dealers ALL get them from the "DongFang" company in china that produces 100,000 vehicles a year and specialize in 3 wheel trikes. I dug deep as I could and because I have a Moderate Neuro Limp this is the vehicle for me . (Along with my Real Spyder Can Am). Time to search more!

Thanks to this forum I Printed out the Due before you ride PDF and intend on spending a couple afternoons preping Before I ride it. BUT if someone bought without reading this Forum those Statements are Very Important!!

Sarge - DongFang lists a 200cc trike. I have not seen one of these advertised for sale anywhere. The trike looks good - similar to the IceBear trike - but 200cc!?

No matter who you buy it from it still is shipped from Sunny Sports or scooter depot who is the importer of them. (I Believe?) Mine was purchased threw Motobuys BUT was shipped from ScooterDepots warehouse because they are the importer Sooo It isn,t going to matter tooo much where you buy it. A few of us had starting problems because of reversed fuel tank/carb lines and very tough key turning in the beginning. Good Luck!!!

Hello all, This forum is awesome. I am a newbie (to the forum and trikes) and this forum and the contributors have helped me get a basic understanding of what I need to know before I make a purchase, and what to expect when I get the trike.
I am taking a really hard look at the D150 TKA (whether Sunny, IB or other) as my commute vehicle. I have a number of questions and I am hoping someone can help me. I am also going to post this in a new thread.
1. Is this vehicle appropriate for a 35 mile commute, mostly surface streets, no freeways but about half on small highways where speed limit is either 50 or 55mph? I weigh about 200 lbs.
2. I live in Tucson AZ, where it is not quite as hot as Phoenix, but still HOT. Is an air cooled bike going to have problems, especially given the way I plan on using it?
3. I am leery about PDI from the dealer prior to shipping- I have read too many nightmare reports about lots of problems that remain after the assembly and testing (like not replacing the factory fluids before road testing). While I feel confident that I could do the assembly and most of the work, I simply do not have the time. Is it more advisable to have the unit shipped to a local dealer/service center (no one in my area sells the Chinese trikes) for assembly and PDI? I would immediately want to change out the hoses and such, change the oil & other fluids, etc...
4. The design of the bike as it now comes (as seen in pictures from forum members) seems somewhat different from the 20 or so pictures available on all of the dealer sites I have seen. Are the design changes tremendously different? Lets face it, the look of this thing is pretty cool, and for better or worse, aesthetics are part of the buying decision. I am not a fan of the way the 50cc looks as opposed to the 150, and it seems like they have appropriated some of the 50cc design into the 150. Thoughts?
5. Where to buy. I think I have looked at every dealer I could find that sells this bike. I was happy to see that Rapid Jim offers it, even though it isn't yet on his website. The last thing that I want is a nightmare going back and forth with an unresponsive and irresponsible dealer if there are problems. Rapid Jim, perhaps we could have a private conversation regarding this purchase?
Any way, thank you all for your input and enthusiasm on this board- what a great resource and I am lucky to have found it!!!

Hyena - I, too, was interested in the MC-D150T - until I received some e-mail from Rapid Jim. According to him the jury is still out on this model. Some have had problems with stability and other issues. I gave up on this model for two reasons: 1) It is a new model and 2) I wanted more power. Although I weigh about 155 the 150cc has some limitations for interstate travel.
Just a thought - at 200 lbs you might be better off waiting until you can get a Magnum or other 300cc trike. Another thought - If you cannot make time to do the PDI yourself then I would suggest that you go with a used Piaggo 400 trike. (They do not sell well here - I do not know about your location.) Hopefully you will be able to do the PDI yourself - even if it takes a couple of weeks - that way you will get fully acquainted with the bike which to me is always helpful.
As far as who to purchase it from - you cannot go wrong with Rapid Jim.

thanks yeoldgoat...
I have taken the sage advice of this forum and I am going to hold off on this purchase in favor of an LROAR 250 scoot.
My trike will be my next purchase, but going to give it a year or so to let the jury come in...
ride safe

I bought mine from supersportz.com and they assembled it for me. They are really good about answering the phone and emails. I got the bike and the title the same day. Call them and speak to Tom, tell them Donna sent you!
