I BOUGHT A HONDA E-TON SPORT 50 4STROKE FROM THIS GUY AND WELL....ALL IVE HAD IS PROBLEMS. the front wheel was falling off, and the motor was dieing at stops...also i had gas in the air box and the spark plug wire came off...well after he tightened the front wheel,.. the front brakes were dragging, and i had no play in the brake handle. he said, "i can grind some of the handle off for you" what?? you mean you cant fix the problem?? well anyway.. i rode around for a week like that and then....my battery dies.....(my fault this time) he charged the battery and checked the charging system then when i came to pick it up, he tells me... "i ground down that brake handle for ya, it works now" wtf...i didnt tell him to ...i was hot...he totally blew off the fact that the motor was running rich and said the gas in the airbox was from trying to start it with the spark plug wire off...i give up...im just fixing it myself...i know more than he does....the gas problem was way before that and when i told him...he ignored me.

It sounds like the dieing at stop signs is a valve adjustment problem. The bolts may need tightening- never done. The scooter just sounds like they got it out of the crate before selling to you. Carb needed adjusting if running rich. Sounds like nothing was done correctly. See, he should have checked to see that all things were ok before letting a customer buy it. See, I bought mine from a drop shipper and so I knew to look the entire scooter over before riding. When you buy from a shop, well you expect certian things to be done before they sale it to a customer, to make the customer feel special and they want a return customer. They don't want people saying they screwed me over, because they will not get business this way.

and get this,...he tells me at 600 miles i need to have the first "oil change" and once over done.....THAT I HAVE TO PAY 60 BUCKS FOR!!! i gave him 1600.00 for the scoot...the least he can do is give me my first lube for free...especially after all the problems

I'd do the first oil change at 200 mi, earlier if practicing the hard break-in method. I want those initial shavings GONE ASAP.
It sounds to me like he just does a crate assembly and not a real thorough PDI. He would have caught the front wheel problem immediately and the brake issue may never have happened. May have been able to fix the air mix at the gate too (assuming the carb isn't EPA approved security bolted). I also agree, for that price and I assume claiming to do the PDI, that first lube and "once over" should be included in the purchase.

I do a FREE oil change at 100 miles for all my scooter sales. Make sure the engine is clean. I also check the valves (twice), replace the spark plug, replace the fuel filter, replace vacuum lines, do a 10 mile+ road test, check the valves again, and detail the whole shebang. Takes over 4 hours per scooter too. Can't understand that other local dealers can't do the same thing!

It might in fact be worth the drive. Greg is awesome. In fact I just sold one of my scoots and gave the buyer 4 days to back out. (Friend of the wife's so a very reluctant sale.) I said if you keep it and it breaks take it Greg. He may have never seen a Scout but the guy has no fear and can fix it.

Honda Eton? I don't think Honda has any affiliation with E-ton. Trying to start it without the spark plug off will not cause gas in the air box. That is usually caused by trash in the carb stopping the float valve from fully seating or from the float not being adjusted properly. You could try cleaning the carb and installing a good fuel filter to prevent anything else from getting in there.
