One of my favourite routes Guess it will be a while before I could ride it again. Trashed by the earthquakes. This was a video (Click on it) of one of my rides there Exact same spot. That's what I enjoyed - guess one's got to take the good and the "not so good". :dunno: www.stuff.co.nz/national/christchurch-earthquake/videos/5146744Video of fly over damage. 1:33 you can see a fly over the road - devastated. :dunno: :crying:

Ya, rock slide! Well, the road will get open soon. They have to repair it. Looks like a main road.. I live in Missouri, and roads are mostly flat. Fun to ride on.

Today it's a year since our city & world changed. The power of 60 Hiroshima bombs threw our city into the air with the acceleration of 2G's. For 40 minutes we held on as aftershock after aftershock rocked us and changed our world. Since then we had thousands of after shocks, wrecking our homes, businesses, home-life, nerves & health. Today we remembered those 183 in silence that lost everything - their lives. We remembered those that lost arms, legs, family members, etc. www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/christchurch-earthquake-2011/The path ahead is rocky - 23 December we had 2 shocks, 5.8 and 6.4 that brought more damage to infrastructure, but we will rebuild the city. Our businesses and health time will heal, our home-life....who knows, we plod on..... Kiwiscoot PS road is still closed to much other damage to repair.

Hello Kiwiscoot,I was very saddened by your post and I'm praying for your country's and your town's peace and your way of life to come back to normal as soon as possible. For many of us Americans it has been our fantasy to take a very loooong and extended vacation to New Zealand, the only media I've ever seen of it is all beutiful. Peace for you my friend.

What a beautiful ride. New Zealand has always been in my head as one of the prettiest places on earth to visit. I am very sorry for your people and impressed with their independence as they work to recover. Seems to me you posted some of your rides 6 mnths or so ago that were really beautiful.
Hope the recovery is good and good to you.
