New2, Be a little more specific, I know the trikes very well I HAVE ONE I have the PST150H bought it back in march of 2009. Have you checked your Wheels to make sure the Castle Nut is NOT loose. To check jack up one wheel at a time and Grab the Tire and if you can rock it the Axle moved out on you and you need to Tighten the Nut up. May have to add a washer behind the Castle nut so you can Line up a SLot on the Castle Nut and the Hole in the Axle for the Cotter pin. Lefty

I think I know what it is, If yours has a CHAIN GUARD that is your rattle, Mine broke by the rear bracket and had it welded and then it broke by the front bracket and I said piss on it and I just took it off.
The metal is like 1/16 inch thick if that you can bend it with your hands. Lefty

Grease the rear end. I bought my trike last Thursday. Today it was shuddering and clanking with a scraping sound in the rear. Luckily, I work at a tire and lube shop. I had one of the guys shoot some grease in the diff and it helped it a lot. I made him stop after 20 pumps even though it was still taking grease. I'm wondering if my dealer checked anything at all before I picked the trike up. www.twitpic.com/5qoilw

Also, I just got some washers to shim the castle nut (hub nut) with. One side had worked loose and only the pin was holding it on! I put one washer on that side and 2 on the other. Someone should teach the Chinese about quality control.

I wanted to add that shimming the rear wheels took the wobble out of the front wheel too. Yesterday I double-side taped the center section's plastics and straightened up my handlebars. Today, my dyna beads came in and I got them in the tires. They helped smooth out the ride some, but the front wheel still bounces. I think the front tire is out of round. Still it's riding pretty good and strong now. Picking up the wife's PST15011 tomorrow and then I get to do all this again, lol! Having a blast riding my scoot to work everyday and everyday it rides better and better. I put the 100th mile on it today. Should I wait to 350mi to change the oil or do it at 150? I've read both. I plan to use mobil 1 10w40. Is 150mi too soon to put synthetic oil in it? Thanks! -Warren

I would wait till you have 1000 miles on it before you put synthetic in it. Also after you do look for leaks if so then let it cool off overnight one day and SNUGE up all the bolts holding the engine halfs on and the oil drain plug etc.. Lefty

Alright. Thanks, Lefty. Should I dump the break in oil at 150 or 350 miles? The dealer says change it at 150, but I've read 350 and 500 other places.

I would change it at 150 you will see it will come out PITCH BLACK. Then change it every 200-300 miles until you get to 1000 U.S.A mile NOT Kilometers(hehe). Couple of bucks of oil is nothing that is the only thing that is keeping the engine cool and lubricated. Don't forget to also bring up the RPMS on it once in a while for short bursts then settle it back down to a nice 45-50 mph. What rpms does it rev up to now, mine before I modded it used to rev up little over 8000 rpms(man the engine was screaming) also 8000 is usually the red line and you do not want to be in that territory for very long. The engine makes it MAX POWER right around 7500 rpms which is nice the engine is not screaming. So once you break it in you can then setup your CVT so at Wide Open Throttle it will only run right around 7500 rpms. You will find once setup you will most likely run around 7000 rpms at a nice crusing speed and will have some left over for catching up to the chicks in the CONVERT . Lefty

Picked up the wife's red trike today, put dyna beads in the wheels, tightened the chain and now it's got the front end wobble. The rear hub nuts are tight, so I'm wondering if I could have gotten it out of alignment when I was tightening the chain? It wasn't pulling when I brought it home. Any tricks to get it back in line and not make it worse? -Warren

The way to line it up is LOOK DOWN THE SIDE of the Chain from the Front Sprocket to the Rear Sprocket and make sure it is straight and not a little off. OR One Trick is get a string and tie it to one of the Teeth on the front Sprocket and then move the trike so that the String is on top on the outside of the chain then bring the String back to the Rear Sprocket and the side of the Chain SHOULD BE TOUCHING the entire length of the chain. I checked the alignment this morning. I measured from frame to axle from different points on the bike(on both sides) and it is still true. Both sides "X" out within a mm or 2. The only thing I did besides tighten the chain and add dyna beads is change the tire pressure. Dealer had about 14 psi in the front tire. I inflated it to the recommended 32 psi. The rears are inflated to the recommended 30 psi. Maybe this is just too much air? How much air do you guys run in your tires?

Run 10% less of Max PSI. Lefty

Dropped to 27 psi rear, and 29 psi front. That helped some, but it's still rough. I ordered more dynabeads, I don't think 1oz. was enough. There were a lot of sticky weights on the back wheels. Thanks, Lefty.

Wanted to add that both trikes are shuddering when taking off sometimes. The dealer says it's normal, but surely to God it is not. If I give it a little throttle so that it just starts to move and then give it some gas it doesn't do it quite as bad, but it still does it. I'm hoping synthetic gear oil will help. I've greased the rear end and adjusted the chain. I'm stumped.

Shuddering is not good, do they have a REVERSE On them. If so the cable needs to be adjusted, the gears when in forward are NOT MESHING. IF NO REVERSE then it may just be the CLUTCH slipping or NOT SO GOOD it may be of the Engines that has the missing support bearin on the Drive Shaft. Mine had it missing WORLD OF DIFFERENCE with the support bearing. And mine has REVERSE and now with the Support Bearing It goes forward and IN REVERSE SOLID. Lefty

No reverse on either one. They are new, but 2010 models I think. At least the mfr date is 2010.

Well it is either your CLutch or the DREADED missing Support bearing: Here is where the bearing would be missing: You have to take the clutch off and then five bolts holding the plate to see if your missing the Shaft support bearing. Lefty

It seems like the synthetic gear oil helped with the shudder. Is that plausible? After I changed the oil and gear oil in my blue trike I took it for a test drive. I let it warm up for a couple minutes, as usual, but it didn't shudder pulling out or at any time during my ride. NICE!

Anyone have a whining noise? I think it's coming from the CVT. Dealer says it's just the belt. Of course, he says this is "normal".
