Gents: I found a wrecked Kawasaki Quadrunner with a fairly nice rack on it. As I checked the size was about right for the rear of a 300 Magnum. I cut the existing brackets off with a grinder and rewelded them in the location of the two screws that hold the rear of the magnum fairing on. There are 4 screws that hold the fairing on I chose to weld up brackets on the rack so that they aligned with the four inner screw support holds. The two front brackets I had to fabricate (yes it was a chore). I used a 2" shock rubber mount (cut in half...so 1" each side) to go between the fairing and the rack. I then used extra long screws thru the whole thing and lock nuts on the bottom. To recap the rack is held in place by 4 brackets thru the fairing and into the frame mounts (under the wheel wells). This thing is really sturdy and It will hold a nice size cooler or groceries or whatever. Ice Bear should have made these as an option. Attachments:

Yuppers.....Lee that is sharp...It looks big enough to be very useful yet doesn't take the sporty out of the looks. That would meet my needs.
Well done......

Lee,
When are you going in to production with the rack, it's a natural fit and look like it should have been there all along.

Ed I just had that same conversation with my wife. Heck of a lot of work but it does look like it belongs I must admit. I always hated having to open the seat to store something. Now I just throw a milk crate or a back pack on there with a bungy cord. Wish I had done this first thing out of the chute. vr, Lee

Lee, if you should decide to make a couple more, say just for practice, and say you decided to sell one or two of your practice pieces. What do you think you might want for one. We are talking Hypothetically here.

Ok for all of you that asked...hypothetically speaking of course...I don't know if I can find a place that specializes in ATV salvage...but I'll look. Ed, I'm traveling for the next week or so, but when I get back I'll start looking. If you are not looking for absolutely perfect we can possibly work something out. Mine was bent but with a couple of 2X4's and a sledge hameer it came out fairly nice. If you look very close you can tell but very minor. Give me a while to think about it. If I set up a jig I could probably pump out 1 or 2 a week. Honestly so much on my plate I can't make you a promise...yet! Major cost is the rack, new they are quite expensive. Just a guess but a salvaged one would probably run under $100. It took me about 41/2 hours to fabricate, weld, grind, sand and paint. vr, Lee

So lets add this up, lets see under $100.00 lets say $65.00 for a salvaged one then say 4 hours NO RACK BREAKS, at a modest and cheap $50.00 an hour Labor Parts I would say $300.00 including shipping. Lefty
