In my semi-quest for a Helix clone, I've come across two variations. One being the CFMoto Fashion and rebadges (Qlink Commuter). The "others", I don't know From what I've read, the CFMoto just might be close in quality to a used Helix. I know they've been associated with Honda in the past. The "other" clones...how close in quality are we speaking? Would it be very close with say, $100 in extra PDI? Personally, I like the analog speedo; can't tell for sure from pics but it looks like it has the large mph with smaller kph markings...would be useful when riding through Canada. At best, the price difference between the two is $500-$600 (the CFMoto being higher). Local dealer support is NOT important, because there are NO local dealers that I can find in Fairbanks, AK. Basically, if the quality is similar, I'd possibly take the gamble on the "other" clone (the dealers selling them will probably be the ones you don't hear from after the sale). If there's a pretty big difference in quality, I'd be more likely to shell out the extra bucks for the CFMoto. Edit: Took out Roketa name...the "other" clones seem to pop up under various names (Sunny was another name). So I'll just call them the "others" for now

What type of Roketa is it? Some are built better than others.. My Roketa Bali 250 is built good. ;D But some are built cheaply too. My thoughts are go with the Roketa if if is a MC 54B or Bali 250. If it is a different make, I would give the Fashion a chance. They are built with quality too. Attachments:

What type of Roketa is it? The kind that looks like a helix? I don't know the model number, it seems to be all over the place. Basically, I've found that the CFMoto and the Qlink Commuter are the same scooter. The "other" clones look to be the same model, all with the same differences. The "other" clones are all offered in yellow (a color that CFMoto discontinued), have an analog speedo, and of course cost less . I've seen someone here say that the "other" clone was a Roketa. I've had a Roketa 250B, and kept having issues with stalling, and eventually it wouldn't start anymore (I replaced some lines, fuel filter, etc.). I'm pretty sure that a competent mechanic could have fixed it no problem, the rest of the scooter seemed to be built pretty well. Basically I'm just trying to figure out if these "other" clones would be near the quality of a CFMoto Fashion (perhaps the major components are made in the same factories, and the fit/finish is the major difference?). Haven't seen many people review the "other" clones yet.

Do yourself a favor Sir Find yourself a Honda Helix and pay the difference in price and have a piece of mind.
Buying a Chineese Scooter vs a Honda Helix is like the old oil filter commercial you can pay me now or pay me later lol I've had three Qlink Commuter 250's all had problems from rusting out exhaust, to overheating to drive belt problems. Still have the current one but have had it worked on many times for all sort of problems. I also had a 97 Honda helix before my first qlink and foolisly sold it to someone who had to have it to mach a friend helix. Still kicking mysellf in the shin. Had 26K on the helix and NEVER a single problem. My 2 cents worth. Good luck on your decision.

Do yourself a favor Sir Find yourself a Honda Helix and pay the difference in price and have a piece of mind. Will do. The quest is on to find a used Honda Helix in the state of Alaska! Until then, I'll have to limit my search to scooters costing $2,500 or less, shipped, to Fairbanks AK. I have yet to get a shipping quote on a CFMoto Fashion, but it looks like it'll end up around $2,500 total. I found one of those "other" clones for under $1,900 shipped. The only scooter I found on Craigslist that was over 150cc was a SilverWing for $5,000 about 350 miles away (I "think" it was a 2004). Nice, but too pricey for me. Hey, if a 2000 or newer Honda Helix with a few hundred miles, in perfect condition, just showed up next door with a for sale sign for $3,000, heck I'd probably go for it. Until then, I'm looking at clones (and constantly checking shipping estimates on ebay, some are reasonable, some are over $1,000).

Burgman is too much (as in, for my wallet). That Aprilla is interesting, I emailed asking for pics and confirmation that it really is a 500cc and not a 50cc. It'd have to be a pretty good deal for me to fly down and hope to ride back up, but we'll see. Thanks!
