Whats up Dawgs! Finally slayed the Dragon yesterday. WOW! doesn't even begin to describe it. seriously it was the most exciting thing i have ever done on wheels! it's clearly the most thrilling amusement park ride in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and best of all it's FREE ! just bring your own wheels and stay ON them ! i saw a couple of wipe outs on the way up. one guy leaned a little to far and slid off the side of the road, not hurt to bad. but another guy went off the edge, down a ravine and it didn't look to good i made a few mistakes myself but nothing i couldn't overcome. i suppose we were feeling confident on the return trip. i was pushing the Roketa, and myself, to the edge. got passed by a couple of crouch rockets in an s-curve but finally hit a rhythm and rode thru the most radical set of s-curves i have ever seen in my life ! i was ready to turn around and do those again ! not sure of the name of those curves but i will find out i was going thru those turns grinning so big i thought my cheeks were going bust out of my helmet! anyway, i recommend ANYONE that is in this part of the country take US129 to Deals Gap on whatever transportation you have. i guarantee you will never forget it! here is a link to a album i made in photobucket. i hope everyone can see them if not i'll figure something else out. s532.photobucket.com/albums/ee325/drhat/Tale%20of%20the%20Dragon%20Rapture/

Congrats on your safe navigation of the Tail of the Dragon!! My husband and I were down there last year, but we weren't riding. We had his baby, the Mustang. No way was he going to take that on any more mountain roads than necessary.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't recommend this road to a beginner, its a handful and those fast sections don't last, and that can throw you off for sure.
Yeah, that pic is cool, it was featured on the Killboy weekly highlights. We were killing in on our scooters, until the Dragon killed one of our scooters... them's the breaks.
