Just ordered a new Renegade 50 from them. I'm going to become a Peace Sports dealer but for only one scooter there wasn't a reason to rush through the paperwork, as the price wouldn't have been much different.
Anyway, ordered online last night, got a confirmation email almost immediately. Have not heard anything from them in 24 hours. Not even a courtesy call to verify that I ordered the scooter, or that the color I wanted was in stock.
I'll call them tomorrow if I haven't heard anything yet. So far, not impressed with their current customer service.

I ordered two of the renegade 50's on 5/9/2011 and got them both today 5/18/2011. they do not like to answer phone calls and the shipping info didn't get to me untill day 5. I had to call GES.com to get it. call them to make sure they are shipped and get the shipping info from them, not the shipping company. then, when you have it, call shipping company. it's a pain.

Now I was just riding across the bridge and this happened. Of course, the thing popped off and the top got damaged. Obviously the plastic had a defect in it. Now to try to get them to replace this obvious defect (and not just a scratch). Greg Attachments:

Someone at Green Earth wrote me back with a nice long email, making me feel better about them. I responded with this picture of the trunk and their response:
Geez, ok, we will definitely get a new trunk sent out to you no problem.
At least I will get a replacement, hopefully.

Customer service (or the lack there of), has killed many businesses in the past. It's still amazing to me that many never learn from their mistakes. I really get pissed off when I receive poor service from a business and the manager says,"Well what do you expect? They only make minimum wage". In my earlier days I got fired for poor customer service.

You heard of Tank Touring 250cc scooters and 150cc Touring Scooters. They were the sameway. Did not want to warranty parts after a customer bought them. So alot of dealers quit buying Tank products. Tank went out of business.

Laid a 150 away around the begining of the month. Green Earth took a week to bill my card. Received nothing about the order. Called them Wed. paid balance was told shipping company would call me for delivery. It is Sat still no e-mails. Checked Bank Moneys cleared last night. Sent them an e-mail today, of course I expect no reply till Tuesday. I have my business 36 years and have never seen anything like this. As far as parts and warranty, kinda like expecting to see a cow fly.

Hi Everyone, Sorry for the delay in updating this, I've been working and sleeping this is my first chance to update every one. Old Dominion Freight delivered the scooter 10/16/2010. Their was some minor damage to the box but otherwise acceptable shape, The damage to the box did nick a couple of parts but over all in very good shape. I assembled the scooter, Handle bars, Front tire, trunk, did the PDI according to the manual. The Scooter ran but was very rough sounding and would not hold a steady idle. Doing some inspection I noticed two air inlet caps with 4 hole in each cap. One cap was on the air intake for the variator cover. and the other on the air filter intake for the carb. I noticed that the one on the varator had smaller holes and a screen where the other for the breather had larger holes and no screen. My thinking was the carb needs clean air and the screen should be on the carb, so switch them... All my rough idling problems stopped and the scooter is now a pleasure to drive. No other problems. Over all I would say my experience with GES has been good so far. The scooter was delivered in a timely manner and in good shape.. I'm an industrial Mechanic by trade so handling minor problems, and assembly, Really was pretty easy. Service after the sale experience. Wanted all of this in one thread. Green Earth was very good at getting my scooter to me, But communication is not their strong point, I never got a tracking number until it was sitting in my driveway, I had problems out of the box. And I would call them and try to explain the problems, so long as I didn't allow them to hang up and call me back later I got some help. If you allowed them to say we will call you back, it's a call that never comes.. This didn't happen once but several times. Never once did they call me back when they said they would. They did send me a new carb, however it took almost two weeks to arrive.. If you buy anything from Green Earth Scooters there are certain requirements. 1. You your self had better be a mechanic. 2. you had better have money in your hand ready for parts. 3. Know where you will buy your needed parts. ( forget the warranty, unless you have plenty of time to wait ). 4. Have knowledgeable, experienced people you can turn to for advice. ( Thank you Scootdawg and all the guys that helped me ) 5. Be ready and willing to except all responsibility for maintenance and upkeep on your own. 6. Expect nothing at all from Green Earth Scooters, Accept the fact your on your own. 7. know the PDI procedure they give you is only the beginning, change out all vacuum/fuel lines, tear the scooter apart, check and tighten all electrical connections, apply dielectric grease. ( I'm really big with the dielectric grease on these. ) Include a valve adjustment in the PDI, ( several good video's on you tube, and several very good "How To's" by posters here as well.. And last Change that spark plug. Now I will say they got me my scooter very fast, 4 days from Texas to Indiana. but after It was sat down in my driveway with the exception of a new carb that took two weeks.. Every thing else from them stopped. My Scooter runs very well now, but I really have Scootdawg and the knowledgeable posters here to thank more than Green Earth. This is my experience, others I know have had a more positive experience than me. Read more: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=questionable&action=display&thread=30247&page=1#ixzz1NhgK5GDS

Well, I think your scooter looks pretty nice. My friend in Columbia MO has one just like it. I am shocked, the way dealers do you all. Leave you hanging after getting the money. My dealer was the sameway though. He had my money and no call, email or nothing. I got a hold of his wife and she told me the confirmation number. It is the nuttiest way to do business.

Thanks Chaz, I like it very much now, but i had many little gremlins to work out of it. In retrospect now if I were to get another and it acted that way, I would know to pull the head and lap the valves, or just install a manual petcock until the valves fully seated.. My fuel petcock is a vacuum operated and without the valves fully seated at wot i didn't have enough vacuum to keep the petcock open. But boy at the time it was a mind bender trying to figure it out.. As for Green Earth, well I was really disappointed in their customer service.. I didn't expect anybody to fly to me if I were having trouble. However it would have been nice for Green Earth to return a call, Send a tracking number, send payment conformation in real time, or send me parts in a timely manner. What made me mad is being on the phone with the tech, explaining the problems and doing as he told me to do, then him saying i have to take care of another customer, call you right back and then don't. Your in the middle of what they wanted you to do, your scooter torn apart in your drive way, and he don't call back ? That really steamed me. Ohhh well it's running well now, it's my daily driver, and even better since the upgrade.. I have more scootdawg to thank than Green Earth..

Well the Peace Sports scooter I got is great, other than the bad packing and the defect with the top box. Starts immediately and rides perfectly. I had to do some tweaking to the carb, and I'm glad I know what I'm doing in that respect. I still haven't heard any word about the top box replacement. Hopefully it will just "arrive". I feel that if I contact them again about the replacement, I'll get the replacement with a nice big hole in it or a huge scratch down the side, which they wouldn't replace again because of the "minor shipping scratches". Still haven't received my Cert of Origin. Greg Hi Greg, May I ask have you gone to the Green Earth website and filled out the Cert of Origin paperwork ? Just asking as that's what i had to do, there should be a link in one of the emails they sent you. put in the vin number and model and who you are. Many people don't know of this procedure in getting your Cert of Origin paperwork.

Ok, I just received the Certificate of Origin from Green Earth. My opinion of them is improving. Now if only they will get me the replacement top box then I will be fairly satisfied.

Although as a safety issue, the lobster should keep both claws on the handlebars and wear a helmet ;D

Ok, FINALLY got the replacement trunk delivered to me from Green Earth.
My rep at Peace Sports already had a new trunk he was going to send out to me (at no charge because they're great support) because HE knows customer service. Love Peace Sports! Green Earth on the other hand needs some work...
