Usually chains should have a 20-25mm play in them that is about 3/4 of an inch up when you push on the bottom center of the chain. Lefty

Thanks for the tip - What I really need is someone that has actually adjusted the chain in this specific machine. The users manual is very vague. 7.7 CHAIN (and a picture like I posted). Unscrew the screw of adjustment board for rear break. Please slightly loosen the screw bolts fixed to the rear fork and adjust the tension of the change according to the Icon (Picture). And replace the chain if it becomes loose. Called several dealers and not a one of them had a clue how to do it. The whole back is alined through this device and I do not want yet it out of alinement. Attachments:

To aline it you can look down the chain and it has to be straight going on the front sprocket. The way I do it is use a string and wrap it on one of the teeth on the front sprocket and run it along side the chain to the rear sprocket. The entire chain length should be touching the string. Lefty

No I do not own one, and there are one or two that bought one and got rid of them right away due to all the troubles with them and not safe but maybe up to 35mph. So you may be sorry to say be the only one. One traded it in for a real Can-Am $17,000.00 or so buckoos. Lefty

I am not having problems with it now. I just want to know how to adjust the chain tension when the time comes to adjust it. From a REAL owner and not a hearsay-er. It would be nice if you didn't slam it but since you did I will give you the information I have found on the internet about the problems with the it. - The Can-am with tax and prep starts at 21K and read all of the problems and death they have had with them . For less than $ 4500 I can handle some inconvenience. @ 20 to 40 K and their dealers won't correct their problems. I wouldn't drive a Can-Am above 50 MPH and have the computer lock up the steering - as has happened several times. Don't drive it wet weather because that when the computer really gives them trouble All I want is come one that owns one of the to comment on my questions. Not some internet know it all. I have had little problems with this 3 wheeler. Problems discovered and corrected . 1. Mirrors. Just loctite them. There not enough room to get a wrench around the nut. 2. Muffler bolts came loose - Loctite them 3. Starter wiring puled out of the socket. Checked all the wiring and taped every connection and put wire shielding on all exposed wires. (it look better) 4. Changed the oil with out any problem but could not find the transmission fill hole. Nothing in the manual about it. After 4 days of looking and getting no help from my dealer did locate it . It on the left back side of the transmission. (by the trans vent screen) ( left side of bike facing forward) 5. Tire pressure - Tires were under inflated (By fault) 40 psi made the bike much more stable. 6. Seat is CHEAP CHEAP and is uncomfortable. Now the pluses: I like this bike and it runs well and looks great. Every time I go to town every one really looks at and when I went to the restraint, every one came out to look it. I am happy with it and does what I want it for (to cruise around my local area). Parts: You can sigh up and buy parts direct. I ordered a chain and Sprocket to have (just in case) for $65.00 plus @20 shipping. If you go to the following links: www.roketa.com/product/product_su....D=0&proID=47108www.roketa.com/register/sign_in.jsp?action=May 10-2011 1. Tightened more bolts. Princely mounted a GPS because the Speedometer is Junk and is erratic. (of course it gets 70 MPG when the speedometer shows 50 MPH while the GPS shoes 40 MPH ) It really gets around 45 MPG. 2. Fixed the break light adjustment. It just stayed on. Remember the Chinese mostly get paid on peace work. All they have to do is attached it. Adjustment takes time! 3. Let pressure out of the air shock. Steering stability and ride condition improved dramatically when I lowered it to 40 psi from 110 psi. I do not have one but judging by the pic you posted what you have is a eccentric circle chain tensioner. The way it works is it is a circle with the axle running through it but not in the center. If you loosen the 6 bolts you should be able to rotate the center with a spanner wrench by grabing the notches on those side things. Once you get it where you want it tighten up the 6 bolts. Not 100% sure but that's the way it looks in the picture you posted. More pics would be good. Also remember to keep that chain clean and lubed. It will help keep it from stretching too bad.

WOW!! Your a Sweet OLD FART aren't you, very nice of you for those comments pointed at me. Here I am trying to help you silly ass and you come on like an OLD FART. I did not knock it I JUST STATED THE FACTS. BUT now that you brought it up I do have to tell you that IT IS A PIECE OF sh!t. And just so you know I am not an internet know it all, But I do know my mechanics engines, carbs, cvts, chains and whatnot. Who responded to your question on how to adjust the chain to make sure its aligned, I did. Now which bolts need to be loosened to move it forward or backward someone would have had to have done it already to know. But it doesn't take much of a brain to look and see which bolts need to be loosened to swing the differential in our out. I do not think anyone has done it because they got rid of them within months because for the $4500.00 they paid for them they found them to be dangerous over 35mph. Have a Pleasant Day. Lefty

Thank for the excellent post Now that I look it and remember that the tool kit came with a Spanner wrench I think your observation is correct. When I make this adjustment I will post step by step pictures on the process so other having to to the same thing will benefit from the information. Thanks again.

FANTASTIC!! Know that is the way to respond. Sometimes it takes an OLDER FART to calm down a younger OLD FART Lefty

I have a mc-95 and i've lost my chain after tightening it up and the way to tighten the chain is with the spaner wrench and is done by loosining up the six screws on the back hub as the other gentlemen said trouble is it is hard to get an adjustment on the chain it always seems to have to mutch slack. it looks good and then when you tighten up the hub the chain becomes loose as you tighten it up. I'v lost my chain and i have put on a new chain and the play is close to norman but i can see where it is going to stretch in a very short time. Must be a design flaw. i'm going to put a chain tensioner on ( roller type ) thisw will be less costly than calling a tow truck. these babs are really tuf to push home.
on a nother note, I'm hoping someone can tell me what size my chain is for there is no markings on the chain its self. I bought one from the people who sell the bike but there is no marking on it. would appreciate some help here.
thank turbo51henry \

here is a little more on the mc-95 chain adjustment . what i did was to make sure the E-brake is off jack up the ass end after putting chalk blocks on the front wheels remove the tire from the rear than remove the little break caliper and brake pad assembly so as to enable you to get at the upper hex bolt on that side to loosten than i sprayed some WD40 in the crack between the inner and outer hub which squezes the excentric this makes it move a little easyer. I had to beat the hell out of it before putting the WD 40 on . there is some good steel just infront of the rear tire where you can get the jack in and lift it up. Hope i have been of some help to you.
