I am looking to save on some gas this summer. I haven't riden a bike since I was a kid and want to try a trike. I heard you don't have to lean in to the curves, is this true for one? The other question I have, is there even a decently cheap trike that will be able to make a 100 mile commute a day, or am I just daydreaming? I am looking for one that will go 50-55mph, that is all I ask. Thankyou.

First question for you is this, are you mechanically inclinded? Reason is not to many places will work on a Chinese Scoot or Trike. And since they are fairly new on the scene they do have some quality problems but if you are mechanical that should not be a show stopper.
And that is true you do not have to lean into curves, of course since it is a Trike you cannot take the curves to fast but at posted speeds if it is a gradual curve no problem but a sharp curve just take them at posted speeds and not a problem.
For 100 mile trips a day going 50-55 I think you would need the 300cc Ice Bear Trike. You may get away with the 150cc Trike but it depends if the 100 mile commute is HIGHWAY or some traffic light streets etc..
There is a fellow Triker here Mike6736 He has the 300cc Magnum and he lives in Florida and he and his wife go two up on it and it does over 60 no problem. So you may want to PM him cause he loves his. He has had some problems but he has fixed them.
You can also go to ScooterDoc.Forum there are some Trikers over there with 50ccs, 150ccs and 300ccs. Lefty

300cc Magnum Ice Bear. Very true. You must do several things before she is road worthy. After an extensive PDI I still have some vibrating issues. I will figure them out though. Knowing this. It is a great trike to ride. As for leaning into curves. I am 270 pounds. "No I do not look like a circus clown on it".. Yet to keep that wheel down. Plus having been a cycle rider for years. I still lean into it. Just to make sure that wheel stays down.

My Silver Bullet a 300cc Magnum takes me and the little lady on daily trips of 40-60 miles, woops...83 miles today. She has 1,147 miles on here, getting another oil change in AM and cleaning air filter as we are still breaking in.
With just me (225lbs) she loves to run for miles at 60 68 mph or 64-72mph on the China meter which is 4 mph off. !00 miles at 55mph would be a breeze.....
With thst said, you better be able and willing to work and get it running smooth. The only thing on the trike that needs a lot of tweeking is the trike section. It is new but I tell ya these things are sooo much fun and ya got a lot of people here for support

I agree with everyone above. For your needs a 300cc is the way to go. PDI is very important.
