O.K what did I do wrong now. I PDI the heck out of this thing. Lock tight everything. Weatherstripped under the rear fender. Wheels makes noise like it needs to be lubed. Wondering how to do that? Metal sound in CVT until it gets over 5mph. Fender already has stress cracks in rear and on the left bolt up front? ?? What did I do wrong? Or what do I need to do now??? Please help. I have rebuilt a motorcycle from the ground up. That seems easy compared to this.

First thing is first the metal sounds in the CVT. Take the cover off and see if the Variator or something came loose. If the Variator came loose I am sure the Front Fan Plate on the Varitor the tip of the fins are chewed up and you will have tiny bits of metal inside the cvt which you have to blow out. Otherwise it will eat up your belt and scratch up your Pulley faces or worse. As far as the stress cracks, that is usually caused by tighten down the screws to much onto the cover. Get some big Round washers and put those under the screws to spread the stress point. You can buy Chrome washers and use those to make it look nicer. Here is what I did to mine to spread the stress. I am going to look now. Plus I just got under there and it seems the lube in the bearing is coming out. A thick black gell is getting all over the place in the rear right bushing close to the axle box. I wonder if that is just part of the break in process. I love this thing. And I will get it worked out.

Update. My Mechanic here at work thinks the right rear boot just need a new clamp. Plus we have determined the metal sounding noise is coming from inside the CVT. Yes it only has 80 miles on it. Plus it goes away above 5 mph. So what should I do? Is it hard to get in there and fix. I have never dealt with a CVT before.

It is not hard at all, there are 10 bolts holding the CVT COVER onto the engine case. Take them all out and the first time the cover may be hard to get off because they may have put some goop on the gasket. You may have to gently hit it with a rubber piece to break the cover from the case or get a screw driver or a knife to pry it off. Also if the gasket is made of material and not rubber it may rip, but don't worry about that you really don't need a gasket on there anyway. Here is what you will be looking at with the cover off-all except for that cup on the variator that is for a pull start which yours does not have. Lefty

It could just be your rollers making the racket at idle and once they get being pushed out they silence up. But if you actually hear metal sounds and NOT rattling sound then maybe get a tube or a oil funnel with a long thin filler tube on it and put the wide end to your ear and put the small tube around and see if you can pinpoint where the noise it coming from. Not sure what trike you have but my Magnum 300cc was making that bell sound on engagement just as yours. I removed the side cover to inspect everything, cleaned inside air rag, spoted lite oil on cluch bearing ro outer housing and reinstalled. Just cleaning, nothing else and the sound is gone.
I am just glade it's gone......
