I've owned several scoots without a flat floor-board, but never again. For the maximum practicality out of your scoot, a flat floor-board cannot be beat. Yeah you can hang stuff on the rear of the seat, or buy a monster big trunk.....not even close. With a flat/easy place to set big, awkward, heavy, fragile objects.....without the scooter balance being affected, you can't beat this type of scoot. Here's my 150 with a full-size IBM Thinkcenter setting there.....there's enough space left to rest your heels for the ride home. I've carried bags of top-soil, 24-can cases of soft-drinks, monster amounts of groceries, etc......the practicality of this setup cannot be beat. I'd suggest cutting out a piece of outdoor carpet and attaching it with velcro....keeps things from sliding around.

There is a guy online who does video blogs by the 'name' Mordeth13. He takes his dog to the park on the floorboard of his scooters.

Sounds like a good place to put kitty litter on my grocery trips!

Or you could put saddlebags on it, to carry stuff. I wear a back pack, has another bag that sits on top of the seat, saddlebags and a trunk. Enough room for a weeks groceries or camping out. Attachments:

I think they call that sort of vehicle a "bagger". Some have permanently mounted hard bags and trunks.....some have various sorts of removable bags. But a scooter with a flat floor-board is different. You can retain your slimmed-down/light-weight scooter for most of your ride times. And yet still have the ability to carry really big items without any advanced preparation. That first photo......I was snooping around a used computer store, not really looking for anything in particular, when they put that IBM out for sale. Couldn't resist.....I didn't need to do anything unusual to carry it home, in it's safest upright position. (Try that with any other sort of 2-wheeler). Shopping for groceries is the same......I carry a folded-up cloth shopping bag in my small trunk. On the other hand.....I can strap on saddle bags and a tail bag if I plan ahead for a trip or something. But I prefer a scoot without all that extra stuff hanging on there, for most of my riding. ;D

Now that is what I am talking about. Even put a tent, sleeping bag, telescoptic pole with tackle, carry food and enjoy a camping trip.

Not to mention if you are a 50 rider your air drag profile is important; you don't want unnecessary saddle bags winging the sides.

Sounds like a good place to put kitty litter on my grocery trips! ha! yesterday morning! that and 2 gal of milk in the backpack, 12pack under seat, plus 2 cans of formula hanging from front helmet hook. still considering the bicycle trailer for big grocery hauls. This is a very typical trip to the store. Too bad it cost me $55, at least the ride to and fro was almost free. A woman snickered at me packing up my scooter. I just smiled as she walked to her suv with one small bag. 50% or more of my GVW was passenger and cargo, her's was more like 4%. And more fun to drive! I win.
