At about 1200 miles my CVT belt broke, got 2 from my dealer. They were 821-20-30. Orginal belt was shreaded beyond reading any size numbers so I didn't know what was the right size to use. Put it on but bike was slower, but that was a problem that was getting worse at that time which proved to be to be a bent valve later when the engine blewup at 55 mph. When I got a new engine I used the belt that came with it Now that I have about 3000 miles on the new engine I thought I would change the belt to one of my spares. LOST 4 MPH right away! Looked at the belt I took off and it is a 842-20-30. Something to watch for. Put it back on, speed came right back!

Ofccourse, shorter belt cant reach as high up on the variater before it hit's rock bottom on the clutch axle. Vould be fun to done the wise verse, longer belt istead. Talk about scary move revving youre scoot, it would probebly pop off if you dont have a stiff clutch spring offcourse ;D M

You can use a 835-20-30 just fine, but the 821 is too small. The 835 seems to use the maximum pulley range, so it's generally the best choice.
