Which Trike do you have? If the Idle is bounceing all over the place that is a classic sign of a LEAN condition. Very First thing to do is Get a Spray Bottle and put water in it then Spray individual spots around the Carb, Spray and listen if the IDLE changes you found a Leak. Fix that part and see if the Idle settles down. If not keep checking for other Leaks and fix those. IF all leaks are found and it still idle up and down then the next thing is Richen Up the Fuel Ratio Screw if its a CV Carb(turn it Counter Clockwise). On a CV carb Fuel Mixture Screw is on the Intake Manifold side if you turn the Screw in either Direction and it DOES NOT CHANGE your Idle you have either a PILOT JET and OR its Passages Clogged. Now to Clean out the Pilot Jet Passages Take the PILOT JET out and Get a Can of SPRAY CARB cleaner they come with a thin straw, Stick the Straw into the Pilot Jet hole and Spray. Lefty Your Carb is probably like mine: Pilot Jet: Spray should come out of the following holes marked Pilot Jet Passages: Main Jet: Spray should come out where the Needle goes in:
