How many miles do you have on your Chinese trikes? It seems like alot of you are having troubles with them. Are they more work to keep running?

40 years ago I got a new Yamaha and was always turning wrench on it till I got things just right. 20 years later got a new Honda in Alaska and SL 125cc for the trails and it was less wrench turning. Trikes are just scooters with rear axles.....I find the frams and motors excellent, the rear axles are new so with that I scratch my head right now..Plastic body parts to, well I can see a custom fiber glass replacement for my Silver Bullet soon. For the price...better get one cause the cost is going upp........
I have had issues and am working on one now, just as Mr Checkers did befor me...The 300 Magnum is a nice machine, that motor has been used for years......The new axle design with 4 shocks is a nice ride...That extra 5ins on the axle, Wow....
Look at Lefty and some of these guys 7,000 pluss miles on them. This question is asked often just worded defferent...

from what i can gather they are more work to keep on the road. doesn't mean they aren't worth owning, just means it seems to be a fact. seems a lot of the owners don't mind, expect it, and enjoy the "hobby" of owning one. but they have had teething pains, these trikes. i don't think thats a big secret
i pass one down the road sometimes, just sitting there in the side yard of someones house. wasting away...
i think part of it is their is just more to them, so more can go wrong

I'm with Mike...we both have Ice Bear 300 Magnums. I love mine. It has never left me stranded...yet? Anyway I check it over before I leave the house every time. Let's face facts and they are this. When you first get it, more than likely there will be some problems. If you fix things as they occur and don't wait then it will probably serve you well.

Pretty much says it all. To add to this, with a proper PDI/setup from day one, you will have less issues. There have been posts about how bad, cheap, junk, ect these trikes are. The majority of these posts are out of frustration more than the fault of the machine. The " take it out of the box and ride" attitude doesn't work. Every machine has to be inspected and PDIed before it is ridden for the first time. The sad part is that rule isn't always followed and problems happen. Another problem is that there are those "dealers" that sell these machines from behind a computer screen and have not even seen one, let alone worked on one. So they are clueless in what needs to be done before the machine is ready for the road. This doesn't help the end customer at all, hense the attitude. Just like anything else, you either need to work/maintain them or have a mechanic with knowledge do the work for you. Anything man made can and will break. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair
