Update on new ownership of Checker's Magnum. First let me say Big Al is a OK dude in my book, if ever in Fl hope they visit. We loaded the trike and off to Houston, were we are now till Monday. The scoot is just like out of the show room, sharp, all changes by Big Al great.
Got to say now, I am retired and got a few health issues too....I knew as I followed the story on the Bear since it started she is a problem child..........Man is she fighting this move....
Yep,she shakes and rattles when the belt grips for take off...I mean hard and heard down the street....but, 1-3 sec it is smooth and quite and plenty power. Well we get to sons house and he offs it from the trailer starts it she darks and crys and warms up, cough and spits the air intake off. So we checker here out (just a fast look and fix under the seat). She still reaps of gas so we tie her and lock up over night.
This IB is like a kid gone wrong, sooo funny, we go to start her in AM, she love it...starts right up runs smooth, idle is to low,but...so my son sits on her and.....she stops...just as if the key was turned off but dash and all on.
So we all had a good laugh and decided to let her sit on the trailer and pout...and when I get her gome will change her attitude, haaaaaa

The shake rattle and roll is probably the Clutch is slipping on the Bell. You made need a Performance Clutch which come with more pad material LENGTH wise so more Pad Grips the Bell. That is lot of weight to pull from start up. Lefty

I hope you make it back into FL okay. It's Monday so I am assuming you are on the road today. The weather map shows some of the worst weather on the planet along the exact route you're taking. I pray you drive careful and hold-up somewhere if you have to. Christy and I went for a marathon ride over the weekend. Here we are at my sisters house Saturday afternoon. We got home late yesterday and I noticed on my personal phone (I only had my work phone over the weekend) I missed a couple of calls from you. I assume it was to ask for some ideas about the ol' Magnum kicking the bucket at your brother's house. The very last issue I had with it was it dying out like that and it turned out to be the intake over the carb had come off. It would not stay put because the universal clamp wouldn't 'bite' enough of it. I trimmed a couple millimeters of the intake hose so the clamp would get a better bite, but it might have come off again on you. Another thing is that it would behoove you to flush the gas tank and clean the carb because I suspect crap in the fuel tank as well. Something I hadn't got around to. I'm glad you are satisfied with the purchase anyway. I struggled to come up with a price that would leave the buyer on top in the deal. I considered the time and materials it would probably take to get it to 100 percent which is why I knocked over 3000.00 dollars off the price I paid for it. You strike me as a man with infinite patience Mike. Don't loose it because you'll need all the patience you can muster. I really hope that very soon I will read in this thread how you knocked out all the issues and your trike is the most solid on the forum. Me ... well, I don't have the patience to tie my shoes. Good luck my friend ... I'll be following things here. Checker

Big Al, I have to say you bascially gave it away in my book, If i had room I would of snagged that sucker up in a minute. Things that are wrong or easy fixs and he will have a good running Trike in nothing flat. So do not feel bad at all he will be a happy camper with just a few nips and tucks here and there. Lefty

I had an addition built on my carport,8'x12' 6' door while gone, we got in just after 9pm and rolled her in. I live in retirement community and scoots and cycles not allowed soooooooo..ha haaa what the @#$%... Be a few day than will get her open and see what is what, looks like ya had a good weekend Al...nice pictures

Hey Mike I know what's wrong!!!! It's not blue! By the way blue is faster too. Give me a holler if I can be of any help. Mine is running great right now. I just got back into town last night so I've been off the forum for about 3 weeks.
