Hey gang. My new Primo Supercharger scooter has an annoying "feature". When I take the key out, the alarm chirps a few times (even if I don't press buttons). Does anyone know how to disable this?

Cut the wire and put a switch somewhere in the power lead to the alarm box. Those alarms are useless and annoying. If you never plan to use it just get rid of it. Otherwise the power switch is a good way to go so you can just turn it on when you want it.

Any idea where I can find that wire and alarm box? If I have time tomorrow, I plan to open up the "engine compartment" under the seat to replace the fuel filter anyway. Thanks.

Sadly mmrtech the alarm is under the front of the bike not the back. At least on mine. Go look at Stan's wesite... www.oregonvintage.com and click scooter information. Look for alarm removal. This will be on a Tank Touring but procedure is similar. Go slow and easy removing panels. Remember how they go back in. Pictures while taking apart are a SMART IDEA!!! Good Luck! Aaron

I don't know if it that complicated. On my scooter there is a gray box about the size of a pack of cigarettes under the front hood. The power lead has a fuse in it. You can just pull the fuse and test it out that way. If you want, you can cut that wire and put a switch in later.

Since these components are located in a different compartment, I'll defer them until I finish the more important engine maintenance, but I do want to attempt this. Thanks for pointing me to the pages on Stan's site.
