Do they make rear end gears for the 300R Trike that will increase the speed ? The sales person said it would do 85 mph, all I get is 62 mph.

You are talking about the differential since the "gearing" is a belt and pulley system. I do not believe it would be a good idea even if you could change the differential gear ratio because to gain more speed that way you would need to apply much more horse power for the needed torque to get the trike moving ... which in turn would put way too much stress on the CVT.
It would make much more sense to make modifications to the CVT, like larger pulleys in the variator for instance. Although you should keep in mind that I am only speaking intuitively and have no experience with that type of mod.
If you just want to have a higher max speed and don't care so much about loosing low end power you can just increase the outside diameter of your rear tires.

The engines are pretty torquey and have descent power as long as you do not go overboard.
Like big Al said you should first tune your CVT, to your liking.
Check your Variator first and see if Both Pulleys are the Same Size. If the Variator itself is smaller than the Outside Pulley you can get what they call a PERFORMANCE Variator that is the same size as the Outiside Pulley. Belts will only climb as high as the Smallest Pulley. So by having Equal Size Pulleys the belt now can be made to climb higher for more TOP END SPEED. Also weights play a major roll on making the Belt climb higher.
Heavier weights Require Less RPMs to push the Belt up the Variator. Lighter weights Require Higher RPMS to push the Belt up the Variator.
Roller Weights - Will Change your RPMS by 500-600 for every gram up or down. Slider Weights - Will Change your RPMS by 200-350 for every gram up or down.
What I did is experiment with different Gram Rollers first they are cheap. When I found the weights that I liked and at the RPMS I liked I then put in Dr. Pulley Sliders and went ONE gram Heavier on the Sliders So my Rpms would be almost the same as with the Gram Rollers I liked. So I gained just a little more top end with the Sliders due to Fact they are 1 Gram heavier than the Rollers and still the same RPMS.
Heavier weights will push the Variator out and squeeze the Belt more so it climbs higher for more top end. BUT to heavy of weights will make your takeoff and Mid-range sluggish. Also Heavier weights will cause your RPMS to drop so you also have to watch out for that. You want to run at or Near the RPMS the engine makes its MAX Horsepower. If it revs much higher than that the engine is Not producing any more horsepower and in many causes will loose horsepower due to floating valves etc.
Lighterr weights take MORE RPMS to throw out the weights to Push Variator out to push the belt up the Variator. To Light and it will not push the belt as high as possible and you will loose top end but you will have a quicker takeoff and Mid-Range because the belt is staying in the lower gearing of the Variator longer.
If you change the gears behind the Clutch to taller gears for more top end speed:
If you Change the Small Shaft that the Clutch turns by 1 more Tooth and the Big Gear 1 Less Tooth that Drives the Output Shaft that turns the Sprocket with the Chain you will gain about 4 mph more. For every number of teeth changed you can expect about 4mph changes in speed. Lefty

I should think the Magnum should be able to CRUSE at 55mph as is stock............That is a heavy machine and it is only 300cc. Mine is not here yet but if it will not do that I'll be changing motor mounts and in with more cc. $hey should not have told you that trike would do that speed. I was shopping for 15o trikes and only one dealer (1) told me 55mph would be wide open...... 40-45mph max cruse.. So, I hope I am right and I can cruse at 60mph. Hey - retired in Florida, flat land.........I gonna love it................

It is amazing what some dealers put on for specs, 85mph is a flat out lie. It is a 300cc which in reality is only about 277 or so ccs, they alway round the numbers up. Yes that dealer that told you about the 150 doing 55mph at WOT he was telling you the truth, but if you look at the same scoot on the web from other dealers it will say 65+ depending on rider and condition.
Mike I have no doubts that it WILL Curse at 55mph and you will still have some left over. Lefty

I can tell you that my magnum, when running right, will cruise 55 to 60 all day long with me at over 350 pounds riding it. I know because I've done it. 55 actually seems to be it's 'sweet spot'. It loves that speed. A lighter person will get much better performance I am sure.

Some "dealers" out and out lie about the speed of a 300R trike, as well as other things! I have tested and run a few of these. A properly set up Magnum will have a WOT at 70 -75 MPH and will cruise at 60-65, this is what Ice Bear says and I have tested it and they are right. I weight in about 210. 85 MPH just will not happen on a stock 300R. The machine sells itself and their is no need to tell customers things that just will not happen. Just for a comparison, I had a Harley trike at one time with a 1100 cc twin, top speed was 90 and the motor was really "singing" at that speed. Confortable at around 70 - 75. I also owned a 63 1/2 Flat Head Harley trike (ex police trike), that works out to about 735cc top speed was 55, down hill with a tail wind. Now mine you there is a BIG difference between a flat head and what they manufacture today, I would dare say that if that flat head was made today it would run over 80.
As I have said many times, Do your homework!!!!! There are way to many dealers out to just make a sale and they don't care what they say to do it.

The MAX speed I could get was 62mph, to make things worse after the third day the reverse went out and the rear gear housing started leaking. I get a little mad when my brand new trike is sitting in the repair shop and not on the road.

Thanks "edfr", that was the best description of how weights and the cvt works I've read.

Jim is that speed on the chino meter. My GPS says I can get about 60 and that's it

Checkers, that sure sounds good to me. When it gets here we will see how she pulls my 227lbs. I think 55 - 60 mph cruise on A little 300cc trike is just.. ding dong good....Now if it goes faster.......I gonna fly....
Here in Florida no hills, just miles to go....
