I was wondering that m'self, but I have to admit, a fairly professional and impressive web site. Also that 150cc Zuma like model will likely sell like hot cakes if they can get a dealer net and push it.

>> could use those big tires on these roads up here in Maine << Big The tires on that bike are listed as 120/90X10 and 130/90x10. If I am not mistaken your 150 has 130/60 x 13. 130 mm wide (same as the rear, wider than the front). 60% profile (flater than the above). 13 inch rim diameter (larger than the above). Am I missing something obvious ?

Nice ooops.........
Come on guys, I'm new here and need feedback. I don't work for the company, know nothing about what's under the skin, and don't live in a large city where I have much to choose from as far as scooter dealers except Honda, Suzuski, and Kawaski and I don't want to pay their prices for a first scooter.
I don't know enough to work on a scooter I could order from the internet so I was going to go dealer. Lewtwo suggested that when I was wanting feedback on the Sunflower.
Someone I know suggested I go down to Lanny because he stocked scooters. I went down there, talked to Lanny and said I wanted to have a dealer who could work on the scooter and had parts there. He took me back in the warehouse and showed me his stock and also told me the big warehouse was in Mississippi. He told me he was the U.S exclusive distributor. He printed off a page of the scooter and I came home and started reading from the website.
I wanted to post this thread hoping someone knew something about the company before I made a purchase. This is NOT and advertisement. Gee!

Ok, we're sorry, its just a combination of the message (sounds like ad copy) and your user name, spammers have a tendency to do names in the same style you're using. Bad guess about what we were seeing... Hmmm, perhaps an introduction forum so we can get to know the newbies rather than making assumptions about them?

Lew perhaps big was a poor choice of words. They are more balloon-like with a higher profile sidewall and should absorb shock a little better than these psuedo-racer tires on the Terminator...almost no sidewall. May not handle as good but as you are aware I am an idiot! And Lynnheater I guess it comes down to do you like and trust the dealer!

lynnheater, you have posted a classic question that deserves a decent answer. What you have stumbled into is another American company importing Chinese scooters and re-branding them as "Pioneer". The question is whether they have the integrety to back the product.
They have "partnered" with Qingqi, which simply means that they have purchased enough units for Qingqi to slap a "Pioneer" label on them during production. Qingqi is a well established Chinese State owned company and their scooters are pretty typical of mid-line Chinese quality. My personal experience is that the privately owned Chinese companies build somewhat higher quality units.
The Pioneer brand is not well established so we have no real record to look at as far as service and product support. How 'bout you be the lab rat and buy one and report back?

Hi guys.. Looked over the sight.. did not give the acutal price for the scooter.. just a MSRP? I would suggest you state which bike your looking for.. and ask the group the question.. "Where can I get this model/bike at a good price and an honest dealer?
Once again.. this outlet is close, and may be able to get you parts in long run if you need any.. but, over all does price and quality fit what your looking for. Some web based business do well, others are still working out their kinks..
Anyone have a good sight to suggest, along with what is a good overall price for the bike?
Jose'
I don't spend untill I research.. and it takes lots of time and lots of questions..

I went back down to the dealer and they haven't introduced the Zuma like scooter to U.S. yet When the one they do have in stock (look below) pioneermotorsusa.com/pioneer-scooters-XF150T-10D.htmwasn't a scoot that had the seat height I wanted, I went back to their website and saw the Zuma like thinking that is the one I really wanted. But I can't get it because it isn't here yet. Not here because the investors are looking for more money to launch it. He said if I get one off the internet, he will work on it but I better be sure I can get parts for it. Does anyone know if Sunflower's parts are easy to find (Lewtwo, you know that answer?) ?

If you have a local dealer that said he would work on it, you are a lucky person, a lot don't want to be so understanding they want to sell the bike to you. One to consider TNG has a similar to the Zuma like bike called a Baja, if you are going for the offroad look. Has an all metal body. www.surfsidescooters.com/tng_baja_150.shtmlwww.scooteralley.net/tng_baja.phpwww.tngscooters.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=124In my honest opinion most of the moving parts on the 150cc scooters are interchangable so if you have a dealer that will work on an internet bought bike, find one you like for the price you like and get that one. Remember though that fit and finish may not be equal between makers, tires on a cheap one may not be as good as one of the higher priced ones, same goes for rubber parts and batteries. I thought I'd add this note. If you do find something you like on the web. Go down to the dealer and ask if he will put it together for you, unless you think you can do it or have somebody that can help you. The dealer should be willing to do it for a good price and it gets something for him out of the deal.

I have to second what medman said.
With regards to the base parts I do not think there is enough difference in the 150cc's for any concern. The stock battery on the scoot ain't going to quilify for aircraft but should service the scooter quite well. I had origonally planned on replacing in with a steel agm because I have some left over from another project. I may do that in order to use the OEM on an old elite.

I'm actually not surprised to hear him say that, after all, he knows he can't get her the procuct she wants, so he's doing the next best thing, offering to support her so next time hopefully he can sell her what she wants. Smart man if you ask me.

O.K. guys I went back down to the dealer and he said just have it shipped to him and he will assembly and do all necessary adjustments to where all I need to do is get on and ride. His price is $160. If I find it needs additional adjustments, just bring it back and he will adjust it at no additional charge. He said I might have to come back a time or two to get it running smooth.

That's a very reasonable deal. Most charge $200 if they sell you the scooter, so given that he gains no profit from the sale, it's very reasonable assuming he does everything needed to make it roadworthy. Now, choose the dealer you buy the scooter from very carefully and you should be all set. medman, I'm going to get me a cheap $997 Sunflower 150cc for my first scooter. Lewtwo has one and says it's o.k. and I can get parts so what the h---, I got to start somewhere. Then I will get me the cargo scooter several months down the way. My friend bought a cargo scooter and let him drive it awhile and give me a review. He's going to take it around the mountains to see about it's power.
I'm going to be gone for 38 days starting Tuesday so I need to order it and have it shipped to the dealer and let him toot it around so when I get back all I need to do is start it up and gooooooooo. Guess I better call my insurance agent before I leave.
