I found a 1989 Honda Elite 250. It has 10k miles on it and runs like a dream. Needs new tires and front brake pads. $450 bucks. Clean title.......Black paint and sweet loudass airhorn too. I was wondering if any dawgs have experience with them? My 89 Honda elite 50cc has been amazing. So, I am hopeing for the same from the 250cc. If I wanted to be kinda wierd, I could use my plate from my 50cc......LOL

Ooops you'll find that the Elite 250 is a comfy ride with good tires on it. It should perform the way all the 150's are falsely advertised too. Should easily cruise at 65 top out around 75. For that money buy it you can't lose. Tires, tune-up, and brakes and your looking at a $1500-$1800 machine up here in Maine. Plus it is funky!! Glue some PVC pipes on the side paint the whole thing white and you got the Starship Enterprise!

>> Needs new tires and front brake pads. $450 bucks. << You found that deal in Florida ?? I looked high and low (a difference of about 10 feet down here) for an Elite 250 and settled for a 125 that turned out to be pure junk.
Bigest problem with those bikes is the body Panels. They can be hard to come by.

I am going to try and trade my geely and elite 5o for it. I do really want this scooter though. I test drove it and it went 68 mph. I then remembered that the tires are the original ones. I promptly slowed to around 45. It has loud horns too......awesome

I bought a 1949 Indian Scout several years ago that was all original. I took it for a spin when I got home with it and came to the same realization at about 65........ 55 year old tires! YIKES! Slow it down............. Stan I am going to try and trade my geely and elite 5o for it. I do really want this scooter though. I test drove it and it went 68 mph. >> Hey it is a GY6 right??? << Nope. The honda Elite engines (125, and 250) are water cooled. They also have a cylinder that leans back toward the rear wheel about 15 degrees off vertical. The valve adjustments are external to the head via a rotating ecentric. The picture below is the Honda Elite 125 engine By the way the wheels are 10 inch. This is a picture of a GY6 150 engine.
