Has anyone else noted an interaction between the lights and ABS brakes on the Tank 150DE? Sometimes when I start the scooter, the lights don't come on, but if I squeeze the right brake handle a couple times then the lights do come on. On the other hand, if the lights are on when I start the scooteter, squeezing the brake can make them go off (squeezing again turns them back on).

That is usually caused by the switch or lever being out of adjustment. There is info on the switch repair on my web site under the brake article.
The "ABS" unit can also be removed and the brake line connected directly to the caliper to eliminate the mushy feel the module causes. Stan

Stan,
I read your writeup on Brakes, but I'm not sure this is the same problem. It is the headlights I am referring to, not the brake lights.

Oh, okay. Try disconnecting your mirror wiring and the problem will likely stop. Then, when you reconnect them tape them so they can't get grounded. Any sort of ground to the connectors seems to kill the head lamps. This is a common problem with the mirrors with signals in them. Stan

I gave you Karma for that one, Stan. You hit the nail right on the head! As soon as I taped up the connections, my problem went away and the headlights got significantly brighter.

Thanks. That's a common wierdness about those mirrors with signals in them. My 150 and 250 both had those mirrors, but I removed them on the 250 because they were totally unuseable. For some reason the older style mirrors are more adjustable than what they are currently shipping. Glad you got it cured! Stan
