Well guy's and Gals. I have been thinking about it for the better part of a year. But I never really had much incentive to do it. But something just... clicked. That's the best way to describe it I decided that I am going to take 4 day's off work and go camping with my 50cc. Im thinking about 500 miles round trip, 200 there and about 200 back. There is a national reserve about 200 miles south of me and I have been wanting to go. I got my tires replaced, engine running perfect and I have all the storage I will need for this trip. I have saddlebags and a large duffle bag on the rear held on my ratchet straps. And for extra back support I have a smaller gun bag that straps to the larger duffle bag, flips around to point towards the front and acts as a nice back rest. And the nice thing is all my lights are still highly visible as my blinkers are much lower then the bag. I am carrying plenty of money both in cash form of $100 and debit with about $300-400 depending on how much I save up. I am carrying tools, flashlight, knife, a few clothes, not much, tent, cellphone, mp3 player , matches, emergency rain gear, 2 stroke synthetic oil, small gas can {enough to get me to the nearest gas station} but I will be periodically filling up as I go just to be safe, food and an emergency first aid kit. Any other idea's of things I should carry? The weather down here in Ole Florida is nice enough I wont need cold weather gear. I am wearing a helmet 100% of the time and it is full face. But I expect it to get up to 80-90 so I probably wont be wearing much else besides shorts and a shirt, or jeans. When are you going? I've taken my Honda 250 Reflex and Honda 600 Silver Wing camping in the past. I love riding and camping, so I'm always thrilled when I can combine them both. No plans to do that this year. Got a long ride planned for July, but I'll be doing hotels. Takes me too long in the morning to pack up every day for an extended trip.
Have a safe ride and a great trip. Let us know how things go.

I'm planning on driving to see my mom, she lives 65 miles away, so this will be a test on my butt and if it's really got any Iron in it.. Just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit more, and remain consistent for a few days.. And a weekend where I don't have to work..

Feral, you didn't mention cooking gear. I hope you have a small stove to take with you. I have a tiny stove that runs on small cans of gas that I take camping.
How far do you plan to ride each day? 200 miles is a long way on a 50 cc. I hope you have planned a camping stop each way. I suggest you have an alternate plan in case you discover 500 miles is a bit much for 4 days.
My suggestion would be to do a circular tour. Plan 50 to 60 miles a day with an overnight each night. You can't ride the hwy with a 50 cc so you will have to travel at a slower pace. Find a route that leaves access to a nice campground each way and just spend one night at the national reserve.
Lots of good luck with the trip. Let us know how things turn out.

it wouldnt be hard to do more than 60 miles a day... Agreed. I have ridden from Lakeland to Tampa Florida and back for a job training thing... 40 miles there, 40 back with the route I took, took me all of.... 2.2 hrs total. Maybe less. And that was a very comfortable ride. I have all of my camping gear setup and I started to look around at other camping sites, and interesting things along the way. So I may alter the route. Maybe shorten it up a bit. But I could totally to 200 miles+ in a day. I am still looking into other way's to carry items on my bike as the sleeping bag is rather large and my rear rack is rather small. So I am UNGODLY thankful I picked up those horse saddle bags. It makes a world of difference. But I am riding light. And I will be buying most of my food along the route to save space since I will be close by to civilization. As for items I am taking with me. I will be taking a wonderfully tiny stove. Its just enough to boil some water.. or a can of soup. And I know how to start a fire safely. Emergency tools. Small LED Flashlight. Still looking at a tent. I found one thats about the size of a keyboard packaged up, its a single person. I am also bringing a small table, its one of those fold up ones you take to the beach. and it doubles as a chair. Flares, emergency medical stuff like bandages, etc. But for the most part just me, a tent and a scooter Once I get everything together, I will show pics of my scooter loaded up and ready to go.

Its always "Oh sure, write it on the board" So I do... and she ignores it... and when I ask her about it "Oh im sorry, we don't have coverage" WHAT? I set it up so that you would have 100% coverage you idiot!!! >.<

So at the last minute my boss decides to give me the days off.. go figure and I dont have the funds to do such a big trip. So I am going to limit to a much smaller trip and go more local, like Orlando, then up a bit and back around, about 200-250 miles and camp out.
