I was just on e-bay and I noticed someone selling an 2006 Yamaha Morphus. They have a buy-it-now price of $3999. The MSRP for this model is $5200 and the dealer I am getting my People 250 from had one in stock and they were asking $5500. I noticed this seller is new and has no feedback rating. This and the price he is asking is a huge red flag but it got my attention. This scooter is beautiful in person. Do you think this is a scam or could it be legit?

I'd be real suspicious ifn I was you, definitely ask what the whole story is, because that's a ridiculously low price.

The e-bay item # is 4652995461. I just went back to take another look. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page below the description the seller makes a note that this 06' Morphus and an 06' Majesty will be shipped to the purchaser from a wholesaler because he has ordered them. He also makes the point that these sell for close to $6K and that if you purchase the bike at the buy-it-now price shipping will be free and if you dont you will have to pay for shipping. This whole thing sounds way too shady. If it were legit I would be all over it. Like I said I saw one in person and it was awesome.

"Bidding has ended for this item" Note it does not say "Bidding has ended for this item with Buy it now."
Something fishy on that one.

ddillon I'm glad you had the courage to admit you liked that scoot! I think it's pretty cool as well. Here's a pic of her....

Yes it is cool. Very long and low. In person that blue color is really nice. You would be shocked at how long this scoot looks in person. I was actually very surprised when I found out it was a 250. Based on the size I figured it had to be a 400 or 500cc. That dude selling it on e-bay has to be trying to pull a scam. He claims it is brand new for $3999 w/ shipping. No way. Anyway enough on that. I am picking up my People 250 tomorrow and I cannot wait! I will post some pics and my inital thoughts.

Not trying to tell you what to do or anything, but I have a rule of thumb that I will never buy anything from anyone on ebay that has a feedback score of 0. (My ebay score is 127, all positive, as of today!). Only got beat once for 50 bucks (by a person who's feedback score was 0). Paypal returned 35 of it, I think he spent the rest and that's all that was left in his account. Also, this person selling the scooter has only been a member for a week.

As to eBay, I don't buy from anyone with a less than 97% positive rating. My account only has a few transactions but feedback is 100% positive.
