You know, now that I've seen the web site, I'm pretty sure I've see one of these out at Boeing. I'll see if I can track him down and ask some questions.

Awesome, only nit I can find is that IIRC Aprillia is part of Piaggio right now, and I'm not sure they're currently being supported. Mind you, considering the quality, that's not likely a particularly large problem.

I am really wanting a larger scoot, but my fiancee reminds me that we are moving next year and 4 scooters is enough.......LOL I might have to sell off a few before getting the larger one.

Is that the company that was bought out by Zengshon?

Piaggio bought Aprilia (They also own Vespa). There was a Aprilia 150 setting next to the Vespa GT200 I purchased. They were the same price (more than what the auction is at the moment ... a lot more). The Aprilia was a nice bike but I prefered the Vespa because it was a bit lighter, shorter and more retro style. Both were supposed to do 75MPH. opps ... I see that you are looking at the 250cc ... my bad. All three makes use the piaggio engines so Vespa dealers should be able to service them (but I hear tell Vespa dealers can be finicky . . . not a problem with the one here because they sale all three brands). Piaggio is reorganizing their American organization. It has been reported that this has led to some parts problems. ooopseyesharted: Take a look at this one ... a lot closer to home. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-APRILIA-SCARABEO-150-cc-SCOOTER_W0QQitemZ4652448127

Their reorginization is interesting, Derbi is now part of the family and not available in America right now for example, Aprillia USA lists a single product. If its using the family motor, parts should be fairly easy to get, assuming that they didn't decide to tweak it here and there.

I frequently ride my girlfriend's Vespa ET4 (150cc). The engineering and build quality is outstanding. What the Aprilia and Derbi don't have is the metal body of the Vespa. You wouldn't believe what that does as far as making the scoot tight and solid. I'm just not going to pay $4500 for a 150cc scooter. If you can pick up one of those used though, great scoots.
