Just put a Zues 150cc from Payless scooter together.. as I was checking the rear tire for alignment, look good.. After getting the engine up and running.. while on the center stand; there is what seems to be a metalic rubbing sound only when the engine spins the back wheel, not with engine off and hand turned.. I only guessing transmisson case....Anyone seen or heard of this??
By the way... thanks for posting this sight up... I intend to visit often.. jT

Jose, does the noise change when you apply the rear brake? I noticed my Terminator seems to have a slightly out of round rear drum which can make a litle noise depending on adjustment. Also post lots of info, opinions, and performance data on that Zues...I really all most bought one and I'm curious as to what you think. Nobody on here has reported on the Modesta styled scoots yet!
Thanks,
Aaron

I've heard a lot of complaints about front wheel noise but not about rear. You might try backing off the adjustment on the brake a little.

Any know if NEW scooters belt rub when first put to work.. I could swear that is the sound I hear when the engine causes the back tire to spin..
When filling the gear oil, does the bike have to be on the center stand, or should one have a second person lean the bike to its' right to enable getting more' oil in.. I pulled out what the factory had in it.. and if I don't lean it.. I will not be able to return the same about???

I've always used the center stand as a maintenance stand. I use it to check all my fluids.

As long as your talking gear oil and not engine oil go to www.scootdawg.com go to Dawgmanual section. Lee has a free sample of his manual that covers exactly how to change gear oil. Then throw away the Primo manual and buy Lee's manual. It will help alot! You can buy it on the Scootdawg home page. Pay PayPal include E-mail address and you will be E-mailed a password to download manual! Good Luck!

Have been attempting to put the bike together, even though the web sight says' all bikes are pre assembled and just ready to go..(yah-right.). The front end plastic V' shaped fender over the headlights will not fit well. I have spent over two hours attempting to get this ONE thing to seat correctly, but; being plastic I am nervous to break it. Have called Payless Scooters and a gentleman there suggested that what I have allready tried. NoGo. He then said he would take my number and name to get a tech to call and assist. Waited an hour then had to go off to work.
The overall bike looks nice, sure as the web sight suggest, I went over it and took a better look and found some simple rubber boots not covering connections and such.. Expected.
But to have a new scooter and not able to ride due to a simple little plastic piece.. AArrhhh Oh.. How does one adjust the head lights.. Low beam is four feet in front, hi-beams are "really' up into the trees.. AArrrhhh x 2..
Well see if I get a call or have to follow up on them.. Honestly, new to scooters.. and thinking about sending this back and taking a $250.00 HIT.

Stick with it Jose for the money once you get it sorted out it will be fine. Just be patient and carefull with all that you do. Nobody here has that style scooter yet so I don't know how to adjust the headlights. With Payless never expect them to call back...just keep calling them you'll get someone who knows something eventually!

Not familiar with that model but a lot of these scooters have an adjusting knob that you can reach from up under, right behind the headlight assembly.

>> The front end plastic V' shaped fender over the headlights will not fit well. << Not familiar with that make/model but I had a similar problem with the sunflower. Was resolved the next day after it sat in the Florida Sunshine for a while (everthing was a bit more plyable). Lined up all the self-stripping screw holes with small nails. Then I removed each one and started the screws. I went back and tightened them up after all the screws were started.
>> How does one adjust the head lights << Same problem, but mine are aimed with just a bit of bias to the left (works out well actually). No screws, just snap together plastic bits.

jose,
<<there is what seems to be a metalic rubbing sound only when the engine spins the back wheel, not with engine off and hand turned>>
I've heard that noise on my Tank 150, tore down the gear box and couldn't find a thing wrong, I just decided it 'made noise'. The scooter ran fine so I just ignore it!
<<The front end plastic V' shaped fender over the headlights will not fit well>>
Again, I had the same problem again with my Tank. The trick is to reach under and push the headlights up slightly while installing that piece. Once I figured that out, it went right on.
Hope this helps!! ;D

Jose,
What is the website address for Payless Scooters?

They don't have a website. They sell on eBay. They have done it under several names and then disappear. Yeah, you can get a deal but it's not a company that provides a lot of support.

Well, as I read, and I do enjoy the imputs.. could not get the V" plastic on so I took the night off by going to work. Next day, started with it all off, and called Payless Scooters.. (WebSight) Primo Scooters.. and talked to the Tech, C. He mentioned to put it all together loosely, and little tricks on the V" thingy.. What the hell, it fit.. and seems are tight.. Yes.. a litte sun, or some Cervesas made the big diff. Thanks..
Next task, break in.. thinking the 4 cycle hard method.. Three times at 40% throttle, allow to cool Three times at 60% throttle, allow to cool, followed by 100 % throttle.. allow to cool, and change oil..
Any suggestions? That is what I understood from a web link here.
Head lights.. Yes.. found a small 10mm bolt under the rubber, inside which adjust lights up/down. Will get to it after this weekend of work..
Thanks guys..
Jose In Oklahoma City.

Jose definately give it the hard break in just vary your speed alot. Change the oil and gear lube at say 30 or so miles. Remember your odometer reads in kilometers not miles. Also check it over for loose bolts and such at this time. Make sure you look at the exhaust header bolts as they can loosen up on many of these scoots. Post some pics of your scoot if you can, and tell us what you think. The Zeus is supposed to be quicker than the average 150 like a true 65. Let us know! The above advice brought to you courtesy of others on this board. I am in the process of following it myself.

Depends on how much you want to spend. I posted a thread on this somewhere but's lost in thread paridise. I'll be writing up a comparison of the Givi 30 liter top trunk ($130) and the new Binetto 27 liter trunk ($49). They have the same basic features and are both detachable.
