Saw a Wildfire 2005 WF150-S for sale at a local dealer, used with 700 miles on it today. Has anyone heard of this scooter? I did look at their site and one thing I did like is they have the entire parts catalog right there with every part that comes on the scooter. The dealer is asking $1399 which is high because on this site they are asking $1499. So maybe if I offered them $850 or somethin? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Look for the name of the manufacturer/assembler on the large, squarish FMVSS plate on the scoot. Share that info here and maybe someone knows something about them. Most likely a 2nd tier assembler, for example Tiazhou Chuanl (Roketa, Sunflower, Primo), KTM-mex (Tank). These are decent scooters, what I call the Ford/Chevy of scooters. If it is one of these, the price may be a little high for an '05 used one. You can get a brand new '06 drop-shipped for less if you want to take the chance. I have an '05 Roketa LB150T that has about 600 miles on it and have been very pleased so far. ScooterOllie

I wouldn't offer any more than that. You can definately get an 06 Rocketa, Tank, Primo, Longbo, SunL ect. delivered for that money. Although it would also depend on how well this dealer would stand behind it. Definately do what ScooterOllie said and check the Id Plate. Really curious who makes it. There are a lot of newish names on Ebay right now, Viva,Verruci, Wildfire ect. My Primo is due tommorrow and I already am thinking I should have bought the Strada or UM based on other posts and info! Good luck!

They sale new on ebay around $900 + $200 for shipping. (same people with the WEB site)
They claim 65 mph. Thier on line manual list the oil capacity at 4 oz. Seems they a problem with numbers.
(they do have good pictures of the GY6 motor).

I try not to comment too much on bikes I don't know, but I do watch a lot of scooter forums. The price this guy is asking tells me that he's not a dealer worth doing business with. I might pay up to $850 for a used Wildfire, if I knew it was in good running condition. This is not a scoot with any sort of upgrades from typical Chinese quality.

Definately too high a price, I can get a Roketa Cayman new from a local dealer here for that money, give or take $100. Definately too high for a used product.

Thats what I figured. I mean with 700 miles on it already and not knowing how the motor was broke in or anything kinda scares me. Plus that the asking price is $1399!! So its not a well known scooter and it would probably be in my best interest to stay away from this one??? Yes/No??

I'd probably go for it if they'd take around 800 for it. Who knows if that dealer is good with parts, but that stylevof scooter is available by many manufacturors and isn't too hard to find parts for elsewhere. So, see how low they'll go! If it's too high, then keep lookin. You'll never know till you try! That's just my 2 cents.

after much research on what scooters to buy for our first experience, I HATE TO GET SCREWED, Wildfire stacked up like this:
1. they sell direct, no dealer support. 2. they do sell to dealers but they are on their own. 3. scooters show up in crates with many parts missing. 4. company will not answer e-mail or the phone. 5. parts are a long time showing up. 6. people that have bought direct can't get them assembled. 7. Title paper work never seems to arrive. 8. looking at them, quality is way below UM 9. dealer in Shelby, Ohio had to go to Youngstown Ohio to pick up scoots that had been on order for 6 weeks. he bought 3 extra units for parts. The colors he ordered were not there. he settled for 10 lime green with plastic seats. YUK. 10. you be the judge.
11. we went with UM Matrix 150 XX with strong dealer support.
